SELF REFLECTIVE ESSAY

When the semester started, my perspective to this course Small Group

Communication is I think about this course is related with should form a group
and then doing some task. Besides that, this course is to train or develop our
communication skill at a small group like 2-5 members. This course also let
me can learn about how solve a issue by using group discussion, it is the first
group assessment ‘Problem Solving Discussion’. After that, I also can learn
about how to role play in a situation likes acting a short movie like that. That is
the second group assessment for this course ‘Role Play’. Next, according the
syllabus of this course, I also can learn about the non verbal communication
and proceed to the third group assessment which is the ‘Movie Analysis’.

After done this all three group assessment with my group mates, my
perspective on the course since the end of the semester still unchanged
because this all assessment are need the group communication with my other
group member to done the assessment successfully. Besides that, I also need
have a good communication with my group members very well so we can
have a same decision and idea to finish the task. The all assessment actually
is relevant to this course name small group communication, so at the end of
semester, I still stand on my starting perspective and not changed about this
course.

Next, I think the ‘Role Play’ is the most beneficial to me because it can
shows me how I can having a role play presentation in front of students and
also lecturer. It can help me be more brave when I doing the role play
assessment. For the role play assessment is a brand new task that I never
done it before, it is so interesting and quite challenging for me. This
assessment can help me more improving the communication skill by using
English language. I also can have a chance to show my English
communication skills to my other friends. Although the role play assessment is
challenging for me, but I still done the role play presentation successfully with
the nervous feeling.

After that, I also can get the beneficial from this assessment is I can
communicate with my group very well because for the role play assessment, it
need our teamwork and discipline to done it very well. When role play
presentation doing , I am be a the role is social-emotional leader, I have the
chance to show my skill to handle this role likes control the emotions between
members and ease tension between them. It can help me have a experience
if the situation happening again in my real life, I could be handle it very well
because have this role play experience.

The effectively and efficiently I can contribute to the overall group

dynamic is I can done my part of the assessment on time and punctual.
Besides that, I also attend the group meeting every time with on time and
punctual, it will help our group discussion meeting go through very well and
effectively. Next, I also can provide my tripod stand for every each
presentation of the assessment because the presentation is needed recording
as a evidence.
