Sustainable Biomass Resources

Benefits of
Wood Pellets
As an energy-dense,
uniform fuel made from
high-quality wood mate-
rials, wood pellets offer a
range of advantages.

Wood pellets are efficient

as a source of energy—
they are reliable and
available 24 hours a day,
seven days a week.

On an energy content
basis, wood pellets have
significantly lower emis-
sions than fossil fuels.

Typically, wood pellets

have a calorific value of
about 17.5 MJ/kg.

With a very low-moisture

content (five to seven
percent) and low ash
(one to two percent),
wood pellets ship in
standard dry bulk vessels.
This maximizes economic
efficiency and is envi-
ronmentally preferable
because such vessels can
be used to ship freight
on the return trip as well.

2 | MII
Founded in 2022, MII’s mission is to change
the environmental profile of energy generation by
becoming the preferred supplier of sustainably
sourced biomass, serving utility and industrial
customers seeking to decrease their dependence
on fossil fuels and reduce their carbon footprint.

Today, MII leverages its expertise and resources to

source, manufacture, market, and distribute
processed woody biomass to its customers throughout
Europe and increasingly in the United States and Asia.

As power producers throughout the world

displace coal and other fossil fuels with
biomass, MII provides a stable, reliable and high-
quality source of this carbon-neutral alternative. At
MII, we offer these sustainable, economical
solutions for today’s clean-energy needs while
ensuring and sustaining the natural resources
required for tomorrow’s as well.
