CHAPTER V

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Summary

The significant findings and results of the study are presented here and they are

the following:

In terms of demographic profile, there is more female respondent in the 3 rd year

BTLED students in EVSU than the males; and, they account for 83.75% of the sample;

Also, in terms of age there are 63.75% of the respondent in the 3 rd year BTLED students

in EVSU who are in the ages of 20 to 24 years (highest) and 1.25% are in the ages of

35.39 years; Lastly, there 88% of the respondents in the 3 rd year BTLED students in

EVSU who are earning and receiving salary of P10,000 and below per month;

Level of Effectiveness of Google Classroom

Usefulness

Based on the gathered data, the study has shown that Google classroom somehow

bring advantage and convenience to the students. In terms of its feature, the respondents

agreed that it is easy for them to learn, easy to access also it made the activities and

schedule of deadlines of submission or due date well-organized. In addition, it lessens the

burden of the students in their study journey. It also helped students easily submitted their

task and other activities on time than of other virtual learning modality.

Communication and Interaction

Google Classroom help students easily communicate their answers and activities

to their respective professor with just one turn in in the Google Classroom. They can also
see whether they have submitted it early or done late because the Google classroom will

show it to them.

Construction and Delivery

However, Google classroom also bring minimal convenience to third students as

it made their smart phones lag or affect the optimal performance of their phones as it

consumes a lot of space in their mobile phones. The disrupting of performance of their

mobile phones causes some of their files went missing or deleted which also rooted

another problem such as unable to pass other activities on time because the files were

deleted. The result of the study signifies that the dispersion of the rating given by each

respondent to each statement spread out over a wider range and that it goes further from

its mean.

Conclusion

Based on the initial findings, the researchers have drawn the following

conclusions:

 In terms of demographic, there are more female than male, this means that during the

transition in the educational system, there were more female students shows interest

in attending classes despite the new education set up.

 The age 20-24 years old also consumes the majority respondents which means that

during the utilization of google classroom, the 3 rd year students are in the age of

between 20-24 years old.

 Google Classroom has brought a lot of advantageous and convenience to third year

students in the way that they were able to easily interact and comply with their task

and activities in school by just clicking turn in in the said platforms.

 In addition, Google classroom also serves as the medium of communication and

interaction between the students and their professor as professor can write a private

and or public comments to his students.

 There is no significant relationship between the profile of the third year respondents

and its perception towards the effectiveness of Google classroom because regardless

of age, sex, course taken and major, all of them have been benefited to the emergence

of Google classroom.

 Also, if there is convenience brought by the Google classroom, at some point it also

has a complimenting inconvenience in terms of the performance of smart phone

because the application which is the ‘’Google classroom” affect the performance of

their smart phone due to its large space consumption which causes lag to their

gadgets.

Recommendation

Based on the findings and conclusion presented, the researchers recommend the

following:

Google classroom is highly recommended to those professors/teachers who

haven’t used yet the said app for it helps their class convenience.
Students are hereby recommended to use alternative phones intended for

educational purposes only to minimize storage usage so that deletion of important won’t

happen.

Faculty staff are recommended to encourage learners to be responsible as a

student despite the learning modality they are into. They are also recommended to always

be note that with or without the physical presence of the teachers, learners are obliged to

learn every lesson that are supposed to be teach to them by their teachers.

For modular learning, faculty staff are recommended to encourage parents to take

charge on the learning pace of their students to continue learning even at the comfort of

their home even in the presence of Google Classroom.

Faculty are also advised to formulate different learning strategies aside from

adapting the Google classroom that could help learners to continue learning despite the

learning modality employed by the school.

Implication of the Study

The findings in this study have contributed to the understanding that students’

flexibility to adjust in changes reflected their value system in the blended learning

environment. This study has yielded findings indicating the importance of Google

classroom in the educational system to continue learning and complying school activities

despite the distance between the learners and the teachers. The findings concur with and

provide both theoretical and practical implication for all students in general, and

especially for educators. The implication are as follows;

i. This study has shown that values subscribed by students can be identified to

their choices in life whether to become flexible or to settle to what is currently

available in a very trying situation. Unpinned by Basic Human Value Theory

(Schwartz, 2022), the values emerge in the life choices in their studies plays a

vital role on how to cope up with the paradigm shift in the educational system.

ii. This study also shows that Google Classroom is effective in improving

students access and attentiveness towards learning, knowledge and skills

gained through Google Classroom makes Students to be active learners, as a

Digital Tool, it provides meaningful feedback to both Students and Parents.

iii. Online learning through Google Classroom greatly influenced students’

information literacy capabilities. It showed that Google Classroom is much

more effective than traditional learning. This study impacts how an efficient

learning process can be implemented using Google Classroom.
