This Course Sociology itself gives meaning to do socialization learning in this course was more

than just memorizing. It was a journey of reflection that made me think about how I fit into
society and how sociological ideas affect my everyday life. A more reflective attitude towards
my interactions within the societal framework was encouraged by my revision of personal ideas
and behaviors after learning about social interaction concepts and societal frameworks. I will
say that sociology was one of the best sources to meet and greet whole students of social
science in one combined class.
The course, which we all students of the 1st semester of social science took together at the
auditorium, it was surprising and a little bit challenging for me to sit among 150+ students who
all are from diverse backgrounds. It was also difficult for me to speak in front of all the students
during sociology class. Sir Zaheer had an excellent memory. He remembered the names of most
of the students by just asking them once.
When the semester started, we were instructed that we had to conduct a full research paper.
First, I was very anxious about it because we were new in this field. We haven't done such a
thing before. And it was also a difficult task for me to choose competent and hard-working
partners for my research. After some time, I found my partners, and it was also difficult to
decide on a topic and get it approved by Sir Zaheer. After discussing with my partners, we
decided on one topic, got it approved, and started a journey of research by reading articles and
trying to learn deeply about our topic. As our research topic is based on IBA students, I have to
wander around campus to search for participants for interviews and learn about their lives. We
face many hurdles, ups and downs, during the whole journey of research. But these hurdles will
make us strong for upcoming projects of research in any other courses in the whole journey of
four years.
We, all three partners, sacrifice our reserved week at the hostel so we can complete our work
ASAP. We completed most of the work during those holidays. After a lot of struggles, we
completed our research on time.
After the completion of the research, I realized how it gave me a deep understanding of the
topic on which we were doing research. The best thing about this course was that there were
no midterms or finals in it. We now have enough time to revise other courses instead of this
one.
There were also quizzes involved in this course.
Which consisted of slides. The slides, of course, were very meaningful.
Quizzes compelled us to read slides well. These slides give us a deep understanding of culture,
crime, religion, and many more.
To put it briefly, it was a vivid experience with distinct emotions. We experienced mixed
emotions at different times: excitement and success. We shall never forget the subject or the
research work because they bring back memories of when we were young. We were a little
nervous, but we had friends who helped us and reduced the tension. They stuck by us and
supported us throughout.
