Analyze

1. From the PPTs, the Southeast Asia Teachers Competency Standards and the TEDx
videos that you viewed, what competencies does a great teacher possess?
One of the things that society expects of teachers is competence, which includes
appearance, behavior both within and outside of the classroom, and other characteristics.
After seeing a teacher's talents and personality in addition to more explanations from
TEDx films, PPSTs come to the realization that practice is necessary.
2. Are these competencies limited only to professional competencies?
I suppose we could answer no, as long as we can learn about the teacher skills and use
them in our day-to-day work as educators. Maintaining these qualities can influence the
learner's growth and positive conduct. You can also serve as an excellent instructor and
role model.
3. For a teacher to be great, is it enough to possess the professional competencies to plan a
lesson, execute a lesson plan, manage a class, assess learning, compute and report grades?
Explain your answer.
Competencies influence teachers to act. This is the steering wheel to feel up the relationship
of teachers to his/her students. Yes, it can affect students' performance, his/her behavior
and will help him/her to achieve his/her fullest potential because he/she feels everything
he/she expected of a competent teacher or great teacher either.
4. For a teacher to be great, which is more important- personal qualities or professional
competencies?
Professional abilities are the most crucial component of a great teacher as they represent
the entirety of their personality and help them to be fully developed in order to properly
support the learning process. The ability of pupils to improve their abilities and achieve
the desired results is influenced by the teacher's competence.
5. Who are the teacher that we remember most?
I can say this since my high school teachers always tried their hardest to support our
growth and learning. An ideal teacher is one who uses his position to influence students
and possesses the basis to develop a strong education; such a teacher is one who sets a
wonderful example and is most memorable.
Reflect

Which personal traits do I possess? Not possess? Where do I need improvement in?
As I am aware that it may support me in my work and be a valuable tool in helping my
pupils learn, I am working toward becoming a fully developed teacher in the future. How
can they call me an excellent instructor if my performance is subpar? I'm a fantastic
teacher—how can I tell myself that? One of the qualities I already possess for which
I am thankful is listening to someone who is having a hard time and needs someone to
weep on; this person is not judgmental; rather, they are understanding. As a teacher, I've
always seen how difficult it is for my pupils to support themselves so they can do
progressively better.

Which professional competencies am I strongly capable of demonstrating?

It is calculated that I will be the one to pay attention to my future pupils. I just thought of
myself as a great person, a teacher, because I had this important quality that teachers have.
Yes, it is a great quality, but in my opinion, you don't have to work out to be great in order
to see how devoted people are; instead, you should brag about how well you fulfilled your
duties as a great teacher. If anything, you deserve praise for yourself, and changes that are
demonstrated through the sacrifices you made to influence your students and demonstrate
that you raised them to the best of your abilities
In which competencies do I need to develop more?
I should work to acquire the competences necessary to be the greatest instructor as a future
educator. I want to leave my mark, and teachers want to leave theirs. I came to the
realization that, although I'm a gregarious person who enjoys chatting with others in small
groups, I find it difficult to handle social situations since I'm an introvert.
Who are the teachers that we remember most?
A teacher is committed to imparting whatever knowledge they have to help students learn
more. My thoughts will never forget who they are or what I did to get to where I am today,
which inspires me to want to be just like them for their own sake.

Work on my Artifacts
Attach your reflection here.

I have learned and realized that to be a great teacher does not mean you are a very
competent teacher. A kind of teacher that all knowledge of every subject, a teacher who
knows exactly what kind of teacher pedagogy or teacher methodology to use in every lesson
that he or she is going to teach in short, a teacher with high professional competencies but
rather our students need a teacher who is kind, generous, willing to listen, approachable
and a teacher who teaches with a heart for his/her students in times of need. A teacher that
has good personalities.

In today’s generation, our students are becoming more independent and sometimes they
act and think as if they don’t need any help coming from adults but we should always keep
in mind that they are still learning and guiding them is much more important. Guide them
and listen to them as they achieve their dreams.

OBSERVE
Remembering my classroom observation in FS 1, I noticed that there are many questions
that raised in my mind. These include :
a) During a discussion, how can we encourage group work and collaboration?
b) How can we encourage students to actively participate in the discussion?
c) How can we assist students in engaging in a hands-on activity?
REFLECT
Thinking deeply about those problems, perhaps something must have been done to solve
the problem or answer the question, like :
a) By assigning them a task in which each member must contribute and
collaborate with the other members of their group.
b) By asking the students what their thoughts or opinions were on the topic.
c) By experimenting, learners can apply what they have in the lesson to master
their experimenting skills.

PLAN
Now that I am FS 2 , I plan to make a plan for my solution to problem (choose from a,b,c)
because some skills require a hands on activity.
ACT
My action will come later, given enough time in FS 2 OR during my Teaching Internship.

Participate and Assist
We are given the opportunity to consult with our cooperating teacher about any possible
assistance or participation that we can offer to assist her with the class routines. She
requests that we assist in giving activity in the class.

List down the problems which you have encountered while implementing these routines.

Notice
After doing your classroom routines and formulating your procedures; state what
you noticed by answering the following questions:
• How did you feel after employing your classroom routines and establishing your
procedures in the classroom/remote learning?
After a week of observation, m y critic teacher and I talk about on how will Ibe
executing the lessons and how will I manage the class. I was happy because my
critic let me decide of the things that I will go through Including the
implementation of my classroom routines and management plan.

• How did your students respond to your classroom routines and procedures?
They really feel different on how I execute my lesson. Since my
critic is delivering the lesson differently.

• What was the feedback of your Resource Teacher on your classroom routines and
procedures?
My critic loved the way on how I will deliver my lesson every day. She makes
sure that I have the lesson plan, PowerPoint as well as video lesson. She also do
evaluate me after I finished my discussion so I would do better in my next
discussion.

• Was there a change in the classroom environment/teaching-learning process after

you have implemented your classroom routines and procedures?
Yes there is before my students didn’t have that specific plan management in the
classroom.

• What was the feedback of your Resource Teacher on your classroom routines and
procedures?

As I being answered in recent questions. My critic always evaluates me. During

my first day of taking over her students. My critic noticed I was good at
executing my lesson, creative in my PPT, and always organized in
everything. My critic indeed told me that I was a great help to her since she didn’t
experience being, and having a student because she was a canteen manager
before. The internship makes the work of my critic a lot easier.

Analyze
1. What factors/conditions prompted you to establish those classroom routines and
procedures?
When we have talk about how she does, she said to me that she
really had difficulty in taking care of students because she was a full-time
canteen manager and when she was assigned to teach there is a time that she had to
look for help of the other teachers mostly with the secretary of the principals to do
all the work because she doesn’t familiar in making it.

2. Was there a marked improvement in classroom management after employing your

classroom routines?

We have Google classroom where they can access the modules, PowerPoint
presentation as well as their assignment. I am updating them on their assignments
by mentioning who are the students finished their assignments in that way they are
on track and reminded as well.
3. Did the teaching-learning process improve? Justify your answer.
Yes Indeed, Throughout our internship my students are more excited to be inour
class, make their assignments most especially to learn in my subject.

Reflect
What insights have you gained while doing this learning episode?
Having classroom routines is way more important. Having a systematic flow of starting
and executing the lesson is essential it makes the aura of the online class way more
exciting since we are teachers who teach virtually. Most students find the online class
boring and not exciting the tendency they will be more sleepy or multi-task.

My Classroom Management Plan

Philosophical Statement

I will create a safe, enjoyable, and cooperative learning environment.

Discipline will be applied as soon as possible and as necessary. Every student
in my class will begin each day with a clean slate. Each student will get the
one-on-one attention they need to succeed

Classroom Rules and Behaviors

To ensure the discipline of my students, I will establish classroom rules and
procedures such as:
 Show your teacher respect and pay attention to what he or she is saying.
 Be considerate of your classmates.
 Be prepared for class.
 Raise your hand to speak if you want to.
 Remain silent when your teacher speaks.
 Share new concepts
 Maintain a clean classroom at all times.
 Stick to the seating arrangement.
 Use positive language.
 Remain alert at all times.
 Take part in the discussions
 Obey all school regulations.
 Be on time.
 Finish your homework on time.
 Tell the truth.
Teacher-Student Relationship

In order to maintain positive relationships with my students, I will treat them

fairly and with respect. I'll teach them to be morally upright and to respect
others. I find that using positive words when interacting is more effective. I'll
teach them both how to speak and how to listen. I'll remind them that I'm their
teacher and they're my students, so they must keep me informed of any
developments

Schedules and Timeframes

In terms of time and scheduling, I will organize my class schedule based on

what my co-teachers and I agreed upon. I should always consider my
coworkers' and students' perspectives. I will make every part of my lesson
interesting and interactive in order to keep my students' attention on the task
at hand. I should always draw the attention of all of my students, even those

Classroom Structure, Design and Arrangements

I will provide materials that will aid in the growth and development of my
students in order to create a conducive learning environment in my classroom.
I'll also include some technology that we'll use in class on a daily basis.
Furthermore, in my classroom, I will eliminate anything that can cause
distractions and stress.
Classroom Safety Rules and Procedures

To ensure the safety and security of my students, I will provide a medicine

cabinet in case something goes wrong. Aside from that, I should get rid of
anything that could be dangerous, such as knives, chemicals, or anything else.
For security reasons, the classroom should have two doors and a fire
extinguisher. I will impose rules such as requiring students to notify me or a
security guard if they have any concerns, posting a cellphone number in case
of an emergency, and prohibiting students from leaving campus during class
hours to ensure their safety.

Strategies for Rewards and Consequences

I intend to impose class rules and procedures that will hold students
accountable for their actions, and I believe that students will comply if
sanctions and rewards are attached to each rule.

Writing My
Learning/Lesson
Plan
Participate and Assist
With all the information in mind, you are all sit in writing your lesson plan. Based on
the instructions given by your cooperating teacher, prepare your lesson plan/s based on
the learning competencies of the lesson.

Why is lesson planning an integral part of the instructional cycle?

- Lesson planning is an important part of the instructional cycle because it enables
teachers to plan ahead of time what they want their students to learn, what
teaching and learning activities they will use, and how they will assess
understanding. It also allows teachers to focus on what they need for their lesson,
what they want to teach, and it establishes a time frame for what must be completed.
OBSERVE
1.The problems challenges encountered in writing my learning lesson plans arose as I
considered how I would present the lesson and what learning resources I would employ. I
was having trouble coming up with instructional strategies and learning resources that
would not bore or disengage the students because the class will be held online. It was
difficult to incorporate appropriate learning resources that would meet the students'
individual needs.
REFLECT
2. I hope to achieve to address these problems and challenges by interviewing some
teachers about the instructional strategies and learning resources they used in their
online classes. In addition, I plan to attend webinars about various instructional
strategies and learning resources that I can use in my classroom. This will provide me
with knowledge of additional strategies or techniques that will improve the learning
experience of my class.
PLAN
3. Some strategies/solutions/means that I can employ to improve these situations/
Problems is I intend to use the strategies I’ve included in my lesson plan, particularly the
use of video presentations, when discussing my lesson. I'll begin by administering a
pretest using the discussion method of teaching the lesson about subtracting one-digit
numbers with minuends through 18 and subtracting one to two-digit numbers with
minuends up to 99 without regrouping, and then I’ll implement this strategy. Following
that, I’ll give students a post-test to see if their performance has improved.
ACT 4.
Based on my answers in nos. 1-3, the possible title of my action research on this episode
is "A study of the effects of video presentations on student engagement and performance
in a first-grade mathematics class." To further enrich my knowledge in writing my
learning / lesson plans whether in the classroom or in remote learning, these are some of
the online resources which will help me these activities, (include books, websites, you
tube videos and the like and share these to your peers).
