6MW Mini Hydro Power Plant Project in West Pasaman, West Sumatra
PP (Japan): NiX Co., Ltd., Nix New Energy Co., Ltd., PP (Indonesia): PT. OPTIMA TIRTA ENERGY

Outline of GHG Mitigation Activity

Tongar river
On the Batang Tongar river in West Pasaman,
West Sumatra, a run-of-river type mini hydro
power plant (3MW x 2 units) is constructed and
the electricity is sold to PLN, a state-owned power Synchronous
company. The project reduces greenhouse gas Intake generator Francis turbine
(GHG) emissions by replacing the grid electricity.
38.73 GWh is expected to be sold annually.

The government’s electric power development Mini Hydro

plan aims at a renewable energy ratio of 23% by Power Plant
2025 and 31% by 2050. This project contributes to
transmission
a promotion and expansion of renewable energy.

5MW Hydro Power Project in Bengkulu Province
PP (Japan): Voith Fuji Hydro K.K. PP (Indonesia): PT Kanz Sapta Energi

Outline of GHG Mitigation Activity

This project installs a turbine, a generator, control system and
〈Kaplan Turbine to be installed〉
auxiliary equipment at 5MW run-of-river hydro power plant
(Kanzy 3 power station) constructed in Bengkulu Province.
The electricity generated by this project is sold to PLN, a state-
run electric power company. It substitutes grid power by
renewable energy and contributes to greenhouse gas (GHG)
emissions reduction.
The Kaplan turbine equipped in this project has variable blade
angles in both runner vanes and guide vanes and can keep high
efficiency over a wide flow range.
This project is expected to sell 32.3GWh annually, and
contribute to the spread of renewable energy in Indonesia.

Expected GHG Emission Reductions Sites of Project

15,299 tCO₂ /year The project site is located at approx.60km north-northeast from
Fatmawati Soekarno Airport, in Bengkulu Province, Indonesia.

Outline of GHG Mitigation Activity

Generator Francis Turbine
In this project, 8 MW of small hydroelectric
power generation (4 MW x 2 units) is
introduced in the Sapalewa River, which flows
through West Serum Regency, Maluku
Province, and the generated electricity is sold
