Dear Sirs,

I kindly ask you to check the possibility of me applying for pension for the death of my husband, who
was a retired pastor of the Episcopal Church of New York, and who received his monthly pension
through the Department of Pastoral Care of The Church Pension Fund.

My maiden name is Manuel Airton Ximenes Loiola, born on April 7, 1971, in Forquilha, CE, Brazil. I got
married on November 22, 2014, in São Paulo SP Brazil, to James Michael Engels, born on September
21, 1936, in Utah, USA, when I started calling myself Manuel Airton Ximenes Engels. Marriage duly
registered in Brazil, with the documentation duly translated into English held by the US Consulate
General in São Paulo (Brazil), when I applied for a visa to live in the US legally due to marriage.

After the wedding, we started living together in Brazil. Later, after obtaining the necessary
authorization for myself, we legally moved to Vermont (USA) in 2016.

My husband Jimichael was already retired from his position as pastor of the Episcopal Church in New
York. I started working in Vermont on April 11, 2017.

After long medical treatment, Jimichael passed away on April 9, 2023.

During the period we lived together, I paid part of our expenses through my work, including paying
for installments on the house where we lived.

With the death of my husband, my economic situation was greatly affected, as I continued to pay for
the commitments I had made, as well as funeral and cremation expenses, in addition to my personal
expenses.

My query refers precisely to this issue: I would like to request a pension upon the death of my husband
and I believe I am entitled, but I need your opinion on this specific case.

If this is possible, and if I am within the required deadlines and comply with the legal requirements, I
would very much like it if you could initiate the due procedures.

I am at your complete disposal to provide all the documents and information that are mandatory as
well as to sign everything that is to be signed.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Manuel Airton Ximenes Engels
