Properties of Addition
Property 1: The order of the addends does not change the sum.

Example: 3 + 2 = 5; 2 + 3 = 5.

Property 2: When you add zero to any number, you get the same number every time.

Example: 3 + 0 = 3; 6 + 0 = 6.

Property 3: When 1 is added to a number, the sum is always the next number.

Example: 8 + 1 = 9; 11 + 1 = 12.
