III. Precautions for Use
1.Select a power supply
During this test, the booster and the test must be reliably grounded, and the grounding
resistance should be less than 0.1Ω, otherwise the instrument will prompt an exception.
① During use, the maximum capacitance of the sample shall not exceed the
rated capacitance of the current selected output frequency of the instrument, as shown
in the following figure.
②At the same time, the sample capacitance is too small, will also affect the
output waveform. If less than 0.05µF, the instrument will not output normally, in this case,
the parallel 0.05µF capacitor (provided by the company) to assist the output. The
capacitance and shunt capacitor connections of some devices are listed below for your
reference.

①“Ground”: Grounding terminal, which is connected with ground when being used.
② “Output”: The output multi-core socket, which is connected with the input multi-
core socket when being used.
④“AC 220V”: The power input socket with inbuilt fuse tube.
⑤“Switch”: power switch with inbuilt indicator light, which illuminates upon open and
extinguishes upon close.

②If the cable is too short, it may not meet the requirement of 0.05uF. Parallel
test with the 0.05uF capacitor in the fitting is required. The connection mode is shown
in the figure below.
(A) Click “Selection” key, and the special selective box can be shifted among the
parameters in cycle. The selected parameters can be modified through “data
modification” key.
(B) Click “Change” key and the parameter selected by the special box can be modified in
cycle according to incremental method.

(1)Frequency:Select based on cable capacitance.
Generally, 0.1Hz is used within 1.5 km. Use 0.05Hz for 1.5~3km. Use 0.02Hz
for 3-6 km.
(2)Timing:Set as required.
(A) Click “Boost” key, the instrument will enter into automatic boost procedure.
(B) Click “Setting” key, the instrument will return to set limit sub-interface as shown
in figure 5 to re-modify parameter.
(C) Click “Check” key to check the test data in the last nine times.
7
The instrument will perform a self-test before the output voltage, and the instrument
will output a test voltage to check the system. If the situation is normal, the instrument
will be upgraded. If the situation is abnormal, the meter is turned off and a "Load
unconnected" message appears when the booster or capacitance sampler is not
connected or the meter is faulty.
If everything is normal, the instrument will output voltage normally. During the test,
click "Stop" to terminate the test, or the instrument can stop automatically after the test is
completed. After the test, the discharge rod should be used to discharge the high voltage
input terminal of the tested product.
