RAMON’S PHOTO RESUME CV

Abstract
My main intention of making this photography report is to show a proof of
some of my experience that I have had in Brazil. I have worked in electrical
department since 2011 so I only going to make a short resume of what I had
done.

This photo bellow is a construction of the main stepdown substation 138kv to 13 Kv that I
worked in this Shipyard. My main task here was following the construction participating in
the Logistic of the equipment as transformers, current transformers, Potential transformers,
the switchers room and etc. making sure the equipment and material arrived on time and
reporting all the ongoing process to the main construction manager that was from Singapore
Mr. Keong during the daily meetings.

And I also helped to do the termination of the

main power supply cables.

SHIPYARD EQUIPOMENT MAINTNANCE

I also worked in the maintenance in the shipyard. In control panels, cranes panels and other
electrical equipment when need it.
3

CRANE CONTROL PANEL

After do the troubleshooting in the cranes we also

operate the equipment to make sure it was
working fine. To be honest we were not supposed
to operate but that time we did not had enough
operators so we had to do it ourselves.

EQUIPMENT INSTALATION AND CONECTION

This Light panel was installed in

the Piping Fitting workshop

CABLE PULLING AND CONECTING IN TO THE SWTCH ROOM

During my work in the shipyard as maintainer I also pulled cables from welding machines
Hackers and Cranes to connected inside to the switch rooms 13Kv to 380V.
7

BUYER AND SUPLLYER

I also got in touch with the suppliers. This drawing bellow it was one of the first small project
that I had done using AutoCAD for a Supplier. I wanted them to make for me a cart with
industrial sockets with wheels so I drew using AutoCAD and sent to them with also
specification unifilar drawing.

WORKING IN VESSELS

After I worked from 04/2013 to 03/2015 in some area as cable pulling, equipment installation,
projects, buyer, maintenance during the construction of this Shipyard in Brazil, I was sent to
Singapore for 3 months for training. After I return, I started to work in a Drillship and I was in
charge of the Pre- Commissioning team and of all electrical equipment circuit in the ship. I
was in charge of a leader and another 10 electricians. I was responsible daily job planning for
the electrician, participating in meetings, daily tool box talk, and inspection with the client. In
this Job we did the continuity test, Isolation test and rarely Hipot test.
HIPOT TEST BEEING DONE

In order to understand what a Hot Hipot test is and how it is performed, it is first necessary
to discuss the theory of the Hipot test itself. The Hipot test, sometimes called a Dielectric
Withstand test, is used to verify the strength of the insulation between a product’s current-
carrying components and its chassis or enclosure. This is done by applying a high voltage from
the mains-input lines to the chassis of the product and measuring the resulting leakage
current flowing through its insulation. The theory: if a voltage much higher than the product
would normally see is applied across the insulation without a breakdown (which results in an
excessive amount of leakage current flow), the product will be able to operate safely when
run under nominal operating conditions.

ISOLATION TEST

CABLE THAT WAS TESTED 11 Kv CABLE

11

CABLE CONTINUITY TEST, ISOLATION TEST, CONNECTION AND TORQUE

These cables were 12 cables of 95mm² per phase. These circuit was connected from main
switch board to emergency room from the Drillship.

SHIP CABLE PULLING ROUTE DREWING

QUERY CABLE SCHEDULE

There Query Cable Schedule Sheet we used to help us located the right cable ladder or tray that we
have to used for cable pulling. It showed us:

• Specification cable size;

• From location to destiny location;
• Cable tag;
• Cable tray or Ladder Tag
• Equipment;
• Route.
13

MOTOR ISOLATION TESTING

In this picture I was testing the power supply cable, the power supply cable from the
resistance and also the motor. We usually connect the line cable from the tester (Red cable)
to U1, V1 and W1 and black cable on earth, some times the test equipment comes with a
green cable that is called guard and this cable we connect on the frame of the equipment.

MY RESPONSIBILITY IN A DRILLSHIP

• Responsible for pre-commissioning and

maintenance all equipment’s from Living
Quarter and ManHull including light,
speakers, light panels, re-heater,
thermostat, Elevator, (PA / GA) Public
Address & General Alarm System,
instruments as solenoid valve, pressure
transmitter and etc;

• Basic knowledge on ABS (American

Bureau of Shipping);

• Experience with Electrical Apparatus for

use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres;
• Responsible for planning and organizing
the team for the daily activities;

• Responsible to certify that all equipment

is installed according to the layout
designed by engineering;

• Hi-pot Test;

• Fiber Optical Fusion;

• Electrical Insulation Testing.

CELLULOSE INDUSTRY
After 5 years in this shipyard, I decided to try other opportunities and I went to work for this
Cellulose Industry each my main task was preventive maintenance.
In this company I:

• Maintained switch breakers;

• Isolation Test in Switch Breakers;
• Resistance test in Switch Breakers;
• Maintained Electric motors;
• Trouble shooting;
• LOTO (Lock out/Tag Out).

RESISTANCE TEST IN SWITCH BREAKERS

16

In this test we connect Red clamp on 1,3,5 terminals and Black clamp on 2,4,6 terminals
from the switch break and we got the result in milliohms and we tried to keep the result as
low as possible by cleaning the terminals.

MAINTAINED ELECTRIC MOTORS

CONCLUSION
As I said before this is only very shortly resume of my experience. I have worked in an Alcohol
distillery where I started as electrician apprentice. Them I started to work at WEG motors one
of the biggest electric motor companies in the world where for 3 months I was in charge of
50 employees during night shift. Where we produced 335 motors per hours and I was in chard
of 2 lines of production. In the Shipyard I also worked in this other project FPSO where I was
in chard to do the cable tray and cable ladder assembly and others activities. I hope I could
explain well some of my deeds. Thank you for your patience in reviewing.
