Histopathology Report

Specimen- Tissue from foot, right

Gross Examination:
Specimen consists of one tiny skin covered piece of soft tissue; measuring 0.6x0.5x0.4 cm.
Submitted whole tissue in two halves in one block.

Microscopic Examination:
Sections show a benign polypoid lesion, lined by stratified squamous epithelium.
The lining epithelium shows marked hyperkeratosis, papillomatosis, irregular acanthosis and
basal layer pigmentation.
The connective tissue core shows mild infiltration of chronic inflammatory cells.

No granuloma or evidence of malignancy is seen.

Diagnosis: Soft tissue, right foot, resected:

Compatible with inflamed squamous papilloma.
