DK weight yarn - Yarn Art Jeans (55% cotton/45% acrylic; 50 g/160 m)
Yarn Alize Cotton Gold (55% cotton / 45% acrylic; 100g / 330m)
Yarn - Alize Softy (100%: Micropolyester 50 g / 115 m)

 Yarn Art Jeans No. 51, 28, 90 (cherry, dark grey, red) – a mug, a hat
 Yarn Art Jeans No. 35, 70, 69 (yellow, dark brown, green) – a nose, arms, a
scarf, and decoration

 Alize Cotton Gold No. 62 (white) – a snowman
 2.0 mm or 2.25 mm crochet hook
 Stuffing material (fiberfill/polyester)
 Tapestry needle
 Scissors
 Stitch markers (a scrap of contrasting yarn)
 Pins
 Two cardboard circles for the bottom of a mug, about 5.8 - 6 cm (2.3 - 2.4
inches)
 A piece of wire 7-8 cm (3 inches) long, 3 pieces - for a handle of the mug and
arms of a snowman
 Adhesive tape to secure the wireframe ends
 Pliers
 Sewing black thread for the embroidery of the eyes

NOTE! Yarn consumption, size, and appearance of the toy depend on


crochet density and how you hold the yarn.
The presented toy is crocheted with V and X look single crochet:
(First, you grab yarn over the hook, and for making the second stitch
grab it under the hook).
The finished snowman using the materials stated in this pattern is ~6
inches/15 cm in height and ~7.8 inches/20 cm in height with a hat.
Make sure you crochet tight enough, otherwise, the stuffing will show
through the holes.
Crochet the toy in spirals without turning chains.

Trace the bottom of the mug on the cardboard and cut it out. Put the
template inside.

Attach dark grey or black yarn.

Attach white yarn to round 29. (Alize Cotton Gold No. 62)

ARMS
INSERT THE WIREFRAME.
Mark the position on the sides symmetrically using pins.
1. Insert the wireframe into the pinned points.
2. Bend the edge of the wire using the pliers.
3. Secure the ends with adhesive tape.
4. Curl the ends of the wireframe. Secure it with adhesive tape.
5. Stuff with fiberfill.

Stuff it with fiberfill. Do not tighten the hole!

NOSE

Break yarn, tighten the hole, and hide the tail inside.
Stuff the nose with fiberfill.

ARMS (make 2)

Rnd 1: 6 into MR

In the next round, crochet the thumb.
Rnd 6: 4 sc, (DC5tog cluster), 4 sc (9)

In the illustration below, you see only three loops on the hook. Make five.

Once you crochet bobble stitch, you need to turn it inside out.

Rnds 7-20: 9 sc (14 rounds), 2 sl st

NOTE! Try on the arm onto the wireframe. Crochet more or fewer rounds if
needed.
Break yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

BUTTON
Yarn Art Jeans No. 28 - (dark grey)
Rnd 1: 6 into MR, 1 sl st

Break yarn.

ASSEMBLY
1. Sew the nose.
(Insert the needle and draw it out in the hole on the top of the head).
Pin the nose. Split yellow yarn in half and sew it on.

The position of the nose: the bottom part is in round 19 from the mug and
the upper part of the nose is in round 22 from the mug.

Tie the ends of the yarn and hide inside the toy.

2. Embroider the eyes and mouth.


Pin the position of the eyes.
(I mark between rounds 22-23 from the mug. The distance between the eyes
is 8 sc, the length is 4 sc and the height of the eye is 1 sc).
Embroider the eyes using black thread.

Mark the position of the mouth and embroider it with black thread.

3. Sew a button.

4. Embroider snowflakes.
Mark the borders of the snowflake.
Embroider the snowflakes using a white yarn strand. Previously, split it in
half.
Snowflake parameters (1 cell = 1 sc)

5. Stuff with fiberfill. Tighten the hole using a tapestry needle.
Tighten the hole, weaving through each of the 12 front loops of the last
round, and pull tight.

Once you weaved through 12 loops, weave through 2-3 loops at once with a
tapestry needle. Do not forget to tighten. Repeat 3 times. Cut the excess yarn
and hide the yarn tail inside the bear.

6. Sew the arms to the body.


Secure the wireframe with adhesive tape additionally. Put the ready arms
onto the wireframe and sew them to the snowman.

MUG HANDLES
Yarn Art Jeans No. 51 - (cherry)
Chain 12 and form a circle. Crochet in a circle:
Rnds 1-4: 12 sc (4 rounds)
Rnd 5: 3 sc, 3 dec, 3 sc (9)
Rnds 6-21: 9 sc (16 rounds), 1 sl st

Prepare a wireframe with the same length as the handle. Bend the ends,
and secure them with adhesive tape. Insert wireframe into the handle and
stuff with fiberfill.

Bend the handle and sew it to the mug.

LEAF (make 2)
Yarn Art Jeans No. 69 (green)
Chain 12, start working in the second chain from a hook in the back
direction- 10 sc, 3 sc in 1 stitch.
Continue crocheting on the other side of the chain foundation -
– 9 sc, 3 sc in 1 stitch. (25)

Rnd 2: (3 sc, chain 3, 1 sc in the previous stitch)*3, 3 sc, chain 3, 1 sc in
the previous stitch, (3 sc, chain 3, 1 sc in the previous stitch)*3,
2 sc, 2 sl st.

Break yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Iron the leaves with steam through a damp cloth for a few seconds to
make them flat.

BERRIES (make 3)
Yarn Art Jeans No. 90 (red)
Chain 7. Start working in the second chain from a hook 3 Bobble stitches
similar to the thumb for the arm of our snowman.
Crochet in the second chain – ((dc4tog cluster), 1 sc)*3
Turn all bobbles inside out.
Make 1 sl st in the first bobble. Tie the yarn tails together.

Cut a circle of cardboard around the diameter of the hat.

* Attach red yarn. Do not break grey yarn.


Crochet with red yarn.
Rnds 25-29: 64 sc (5 rounds)
With dark grey yarn.
Rnd 30: 64 sc
* In the next round, crochet through front loops.
Rnd 31: 64 sc
* In all the next rounds, crochet through both loops.

Break yarn and tighten. Hide the yarn tail inside the hat.

Iron the edges of the hat to keep it flat. Place a damp cloth on top of the
brim of your hat and steam it off for a few seconds.

SEW THE LEAVES AND BERRIES TO THE HAT

Stuff the hat with fiberfill. Put a hat on the snowman, pin it and sew it with
black thread.

SCARF
Yarn Art Jeans No. 90, 69 - (red, green)

Chain 81. Start working in the second chain from hook in the back direction:

Rnd 1: 80 HDC, chain 2

Attach green yarn.


Crochet on the other side of the chain
foundation:
Rnd 2: 80 HDC, 1 sl st
Break yarn and tighten.
Hide the yarn tail inside the scarf.

CHRISTMAS BALL ORNAMENT (make 3)


Yarn Art Jeans No. 90, 69, 35, 46 - (red, green, yellow, grey).
Rnd 1: 6 into MR
Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc)*6 (18)
Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc)*6 (24)
Rnds 5-8: 24 sc (4 rounds)
Rnd 9: (2 sc, dec)*6 (18)
Rnd 10: (1 sc, dec)*6 (12)
Stuff it with fiberfill.
Attach grey yarn.

Stuff it with fiberfill.
Break yarn, leaving a long tail for tightening the hole or making a loop.

Embroider a snowflake with white thread.

Tighten the hole with a tapestry needle.


* Tighten the hole, weaving through each of the 12 back loops of the last
round, and pull tight.

Make a loop and fasten off. Hide the yarn tail inside.
