Silver; Ferrous metals- Iron, manganese, Tungsten andNickel.
2.2 Mineralogy, uses, occurrence and distribution of metallic mineral deposits:Non-Ferrous metals -
Copper, Lead-Zinc, Tin; Light metals- Lithium, Magnesium, Aluminium.
2.3 Mineralogy, uses, occurrence and distribution of metallic mineral deposits:Radioactive metals-
Uranium and Thorium;Rare metals- Monazite, Allanite and Smarskite.
2.4 Mineralogy, uses, occurrence and distribution of non-metallic mineral deposits: Industrial
Minerals- Mica, Asbestos, Barytes and Talc.
2.5 Mineralogy, uses, occurrence and distribution of non-metallic mineral deposits: Metallurgical and
Refractory Minerals- Fireclay, Graphite; Ceramics Minerals- Clay, Feldspar, Wollastonite.

pressure.
3.2 Definition and Properties of Source rock, reservoir rock, cap rock.
3.3 Traps, Classification of Traps: Structural and Stratigraphic Traps
3.4 Generation of Petroleum: Organic and Inorganic Theories; Formation of Kerogen and its types.
3.5 Migration of Petroleum: Primary and Secondary Migration.

4.1 Coal Geology: Introduction, Scope, and Rank of coal.


4.2 Classification of coal and Origin of coal-theories.
4.3 Physical and chemical constituents of coal
4.4 Formation of coal.
4.5 Distribution of Indian coal Deposits
