Key Matching
Prerequisites:
All keys are either brand new or were adapted to this car (IMMO-ID) before.
You can match up to 8 keys.
While adapting each key, make sure to place the other keys away from the ignition lock (reader coil). The passenger seat
is an adequate place.
Battery voltage at least 12.0 V.
[Select]
[25 - Immobilizer]
[Meas. Blocks - 08]
Select Block 001.
[Go!]
The value in field 3 must be Yes. If value is No, the key is not capable of being adapted to Immobilizer.
You can check each key in this manner.
If lockout time was present check Group 1.3 as mentioned above to confirm "Yes" is shown.
[Done, Go Back]
4-digit PIN
Enter zero followed by the 4-digit PIN. For example, if your PIN is 1234, enter 01234.
[Do it!]
[Adaptation - 10]
Enter 001 in "Channel Number".
[Read]
The "Stored Value" is the number of keys currently matched.
Enter a "new value" corresponding to the total number of keys to be matched, including any existing keys.
The old keys are automatically being cleared.
[Save]
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]
Repeat the following steps until all keys have been matched:
Switch ignition off and remove key.
Insert next key to ignition and switch ignition on again.
The warning light for the Immobilizer will light up for ~2 seconds, then go out.
Note: The above steps after saving the adaptation, should not exceed 60 seconds!
The Measuring block Prerequisites above apply to the VW Passat (3C) Immobilizer system however the Instrument Cluster
may begin by showing 0-2 (using a 2 key example) so the 1st key may need to be reinserted as follows:
[Select]
[25 - Immobilizer]
[Security Access - 16]
[Test]
[Save]
DO NOT exit the control module. Repeat the following steps until all keys have been matched:
Observe the Instrument cluster display for feedback related to the key position and the total number of keys.
For example 0-2 means zero of the two total keys were learned. If this is the case you will need to reinsert that
key to match it to position #1.
Alternatively, 1-2 would mean one of the two total keys were learned. It this is the case you do NOT have to
reinsert that key because it was already learned and matched to position #1.
Switch ignition off and remove key.
Insert next key to ignition and switch ignition on again.
Observe the Instrument cluster display for feedback related to the key position again and repeat until all keys are matched.
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]
