Final Capstone Project Reflection Questions

1. In the process of completing your Capstone Project, what did you learn about your subject? What did
you learn about your skill set? What did you learn about yourself?

I learned that I’m way more capable of completing things than I thought I was. There were moments in
my capstone where I thought I wasn’t going to be able to do, where I thought about giving up half way
through because everything seemed so difficult. But I found out that im way more capable than I
thought, and that I have a lot more passion for my art than I thought I had.

2. How is your project relevant to you? How is it relevant to the school? How is it relevant to the
community?

the project is relevant to me because it has to do with my own culture and something I grew up loving,
apart of it is a big part of me put into a piece of art that im willing to present. It’s relevant to the art
community to show them that with effort, research and genuine care you can take someone else’s
culture and be inspired by it without being offensive or disrespectful.

3. What impact did your Capstone have on you?

It had a very big impact on me by showing me really how valuable time is. I always thought I had more
time, or that it wouldn’t take too long. But working with my capstone really showed me how valuable it
is to manage my time and take time to plan things out to not fall behind.

4. What aspects of your project are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of myself by the connection I made with it with tarot cards. I wanted to include them in
one way or another In order to give it a little bit more of my personality to it and I thought that I wasn’t
going to be able to, but I was able to in the end and it really made me happy to be able to do that.

5. What was a difficulty you encountered while researching your Capstone project? How were you able to
overcome those obstacles?

Time. I felt like I had too much time at the start, but reaching the end, I felt like I had too little time. I
didn’t necessarily end up overcoming the obstacles, but I learned a lot from it and the consequences
behind not being able to manage my time wisely and it is definitely something I will be carrying with
myself in the future.
6. What is the one thing you would have changed about your project if you could?

I would have changed how seriously I took it. I thought it wouldn’t be that hard and that I didn’t have
to put too much effort into it, but nearing the middle, I realized how serious it was and put more time
and effort into the project.

7. What advice would you offer to future Capstone students to help them with their Capstone journey?

I would tell them to take it seriously and not underestimate how much time, effort and how much the
capstone means in general. I would motivate them to take It seriously and understand that this is a big
part of their senior year and they should treat it like it.
