1947 is considered the official birth year

of the brand because that was the year Dior launched its first collection. Christian Dior died of a heart
attack in 1957. Then, Yves Saint Laurent was appointed Creative Director of Dior. The Boussac group
declared bankruptcy in 1978. The Willot group purchased Boussac's properties, including Dior. But in
1981, Willot Corporation also went bankrupt. In 1984, Bernard Arnault and his investment group bought
Willot for a symbolic price, just 1 franc. Bernard Arnault has restored Christian Dior to its former glory.
Maria Grazia Chiuri became Dior's first female Creative Director in 2016. Today, global brand
ambassadors include Jisoo (BLACKPINK), Jennifer Lawrence, Bae Suzy, and others. Dior has been
associated with many famous collections that have been performed all over the world. For example, the
Resort 2015 collection in New York, the Cruise 2017 collection at the Blenheim Palace in England, the
Dior Cruise 2021 collection in Italy. Currently, Dior owns 5 main product lines including women's fashion,
