what are brands?

Fashion is one of the most critical industries in our world today. Style has become one of the
primary ways in which people express their personality and in which they distinguish themselves
from those around them. With every New Year which comes and goes new fashions arrive on the
scene and they all endeavor to be more colorful and fashionable than those which saw last year.
From online retailers like Roden Gray to printed magazines, there’s inspiration everywhere. The
desire to express one is something which was present all through human history.
People of all ages are addicted to new trends in the world of fashion. There is a tremendous
amount of competition within the industry and also among consumers. The style is also different
among different cultures and nationalities, and this is why it’s so exciting when one travels to
various parts of the planet to observe firsthand how people dress in those countries. The clothes
we wear has become more than merely a way to cover our nakedness instead it has also become
one of the primary ways in which people express themselves.
Top international fashion brands.

the clothing industry is one of the most ancient industries. However, today very few
companies in the field of clothing manufacturing earned the top positions
globally.
The world saw the emergence of new trends and new fabrics in the clothing
industry. Very few brands got famous all over the world and are still amongst the
global best sellers.

some of these brands are:

Prada

Zara
Louis Vuitton
prada
Prada was founded in Milan in 1913 by Mario Prada as a luxury leather-goods firm, but it made little impact
on the world of fashion until after Miuccia Prada took charge of her grandfather's company in 1978. Her first
big success was a black nylon backpack with a triangular silver label. Soon her shoe and handbag designs
became the focus of a veritable cult of fashionable consumers in Europe, America, and Japan. Miuccia
Prada and her husband and business partner, Patrizio Bertelli, maintain close control over the company.
They added a ready-to-wear line in 1989 and inaugurated the younger, slightly less expensive Miu Miu line
in 1992, followed by Prada Sport, whose iconic red line is almost as recognized in certain circles as Nike's
swoosh symbol. A string of shops and boutiques in Paris, New York, and San Francisco, designed in
collaboration with the architect Rem Koolhaas, became instantly famous

dior
Dior went global. A store on Fifth Avenue and 57th Street in New York City was opened in
1948, bringing Dior stateside for the first time. With the global launch came an expanded
collection as well. Dior started with fragrance, introducing Miss Dior, which he dedicated to
his sister. It was also around this time that Dior realized that to continue his New Look, his
brand needed to provide the entire fashion experience. That meant licensing the Dior name
for accessories. Now, the Dior customer could have the coats, shoes, hats, and every other
piece necessary to fully capture the New Look from head to toe.
The Dior brand continued to grow and Dior himself continued to dress the biggest stars of
the time. He even outfitted Marlene Dietrich for her 1950 role in Alfred Hitchcock's Stage
Fright. His designs remained a fixture in her closet, as well as plenty of other starlets in the
late '40s and early '50s.

chanel
Chanel is a French luxury fashion house that was founded by couturière Coco Chanel in
1910. It focuses on women's ready-to-wear clothes, luxury goods and accessories. The
company is currently owned by Alain Wertheimer and Gérard Wertheimer, grandsons of
Pierre Wertheimer, who was an early business partner of Coco Chanel.

Chanel is well known for the perfume Chanel No. 5 and the Chanel Suit. Chanel's use of
jersey fabric produced garments that were comfortable and affordable. Chanel
revolutionized fashion – both high fashion (haute couture) and everyday fashion (prêt-
à-porter) – by replacing structured-silhouettes, based upon the corset and the bodice,
with garments that were functional and at the same time flattering to the woman's
figure.

The global empire is a far cry from Gabrielle’s humble origins – a background she would
alternately conceal or elaborate for greater dramatic effect. Born in a poorhouse hospice,
the designer grew up in a crowded one-room lodging with five siblings. After her mother’s
death aged 32, the boys were sent to work the fields, the girls to a convent orphanage.

zara
Zara is one of the world’s most successful fashion retail brands – if not the most successful one.
With its dramatic introduction of the concept of “fast fashion” retail since it was founded in 1975
in Spain, Zara aspires to create responsible passion for fashion amongst a broad spectrum of
consumers, spread across different cultures and age groups. There are many factors that have
contributed to the success of Zara but one of its key strengths, which has played a strong role in
it becoming a global fashion powerhouse as it is today, is its ability to put customers first. Zara is
obsessed with its customers, and they have defined the company and the brand’s culture right
from the very beginning.

Celebrating a non-traditionalist point of view, the brand intends to deconstruct the rigid perception of
tailoring. Architecture, specifically intersecting shapes and the play of shadow and light, have regularly
inspired the brand's modernist take on color-blocking. With a graduate degree in fashion design from
India’s premier fashion design institute, the National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi,
internships with powerhouses like Marchesa and Prada, and a subsequent degree at Parsons New York,
Goyal fine-tuned her skills in all spheres of design. Both formal training and natural curiosity led her to
evolve from a designer to a global couturier, obsessed with quality and detail. KGL is a distillation of
all her influences and design philosophies.

Western v/s Indian

branmds
Both western clothing and ethnic wear are special in their way. While the
majority of women prefer western clothing as they find them comfortable, some
women find comfort in wearing Ethnic clothes. It will be unfair to say that one or
the other is better. But in most of the cases, the clothing depends on the
occasion. But one thing that western clothes cannot justify is the culture and
tradition of our country.

These days, the Ethnic clothing is produced with a tinge of Western

clothing in them. A shirt like kurtas has become massively popular
among young girls that can be work with either jeans or salwar. Not
only this, a famous brand like Satya Paul has also introduced trouser-
sarees which are easy to drape and comfortable to carry. Because
of this experiment, a lot of women have again started to adapt to
Ethnic clothes. The look does matter but what matters is the ease at
the end of the day and this fusion of Ethnic and Western clothing
gives them both.
