Visualization Pitfalls
▪ In an age where information is consumed in mere seconds,
we're seeing more and more visuals used to relay facts and
figures.
▪ Because of that in business, politics or socioeconomics
data visualizations, like graphs, charts, and tables, are
commonplace in the news or business presentations.
▪ They can quickly establish trust, tell a story and illustrate
complex messaging with little more than a glance.

Because of above advantages there are inherited
danger in Data visualization
▪ Data visualization can use to feed wrong information easily.
▪ Consumer can misinterpret information because information
in visualization absorb less that minute.
▪ Visuals can be manipulated to support the narration an
author wants to portray.
▪ Poorly design visualization are misleading and confusing
visuals skew data or ideas and can lead to misinformation
guiding important decisions.

▪ Color code different categories.
▪ Organize data in strategic format
▪ Never Go against norms or standards even you give legend
▪ Clearly visualize the story you want to present using color
code or other technique
▪ Avoid cluttering .

your visualization.
▪ Identify what are the variables that impotent to you or your
organization
▪ Understand the association between those variables
▪ Identify the objective of the data visualization.
▪ Don’t present meaningless data because you have them
▪ Avoid data glut

▪ Know what you want to present to your audience.
▪ Know who are your audience.
▪ Make sure that the chart will not alter , misinterpret or giving
wrong conclusion about data.

▪ Keep it simple
▪ The main objective of data visualization is keep data simple
easy to understand and analyze.
▪ Use simple language.
▪ Don’t use adverbs or expressive language.
▪ Label your chart clearly and simple, make it easy to read and
view.
