Since 1984, cinema attendance has undergone a considerably
rising trend, but the greatest increase was for 15-24 age group,
whose figure rose from 18% in 1984 to over 54% in 2000. In
spite of some fluctuations between 1990 and 1995, people in this
age group still went to cinema more than other categories. Also,
there was a substantial incline in the figure for older people (35

As far as the remaining age groups are concerned, the cinema
attendance of 7-14 and 25-35-year-old groups followed a
relatively similar pattern from the beginning to 1997, which was
characterized by a gradual incline before experiencing a drop
after this date. From 1999 the trends differed in that 7-14- year olds
went to cinema less frequently while the figure for 25- 35- year olds
was on an increase/increased before finishing at the same level
(32%) at the end of the period shown.
