All bolts shall be made from steel of good quality that manufactured in accordance with
ISO 898-1. The detailed shape and dimensions of bolt shall meet the requirements shown
in Figure 1 of this specification and ISO 4014.
5.1.2 Thread
The thread of bolt shall be machine rolled and before galvanizing, comply with ISO 724.
After galvanizing, the bolt thread shall permit compatible nuts to be run the entire bolt
length without the aid of tools. Thread tolerance of bolt shall be in accordance with ISO
965-1 and ISO 965-2.
5.1.4 Tolerance
The tolerance of bolts shall conform to ISO 4759-1.
5.2.1 Material

dimensions of nut shall meet the requirements shown in Figure 2 of this specification and
ISO 4032.
5.2.4 Tolerance
The tolerance of nuts shall conform to ISO 4759-1.
5.3.1 Material
All round washers shall be made from steel in accordance with ISO 630 and general
requirements shall be in accordance with ISO 887 and ISO 7089. The detailed shape and
dimension of washers shall conform to the requirements shown in Figure 2 of this
specification.
5.3.3 Tolerance
The tolerance of washers shall conform to ISO 4759-3.
5.4.1 Material
All spring washers shall be made from steel in accordance with ISO 630 or over
equivalence and shall be of single coil, rectangular cross section conforming to BS 4464.
5.4.4 Dimension
The dimension shall comply with Figure 2 of this specification or BS 4464.
6 Tests
All bolts and nuts are to be checked for compliance with this specification and with the
ordering quantity. GECOL reserves the rights to ask for tests to confirm the quality of bolts
and nuts in the presence of GECOL representatives.
All test reports of the below defined and executed tests shall be submitted to GECOL for
approval within one week after the completion of the tests.
6.1 Sampling
Test specimens shall be selected at random from each inspection lot (or articles) in
accordance with ISO 2859-1. The number of samples selected from each lot shall comply
with Table 3 of this specification.
