PURIFIER

1 . Type of purifier :
 Our ship has 3 purifier in the engine room
 Marker : mitsubishi
 Model : F.O SJ25 and L.O SJ15

2 . How to start purifier

 Before start purifier must checking :
 Temperature oil setting tank and drain water
 Open oil heater valve
 Checking all valve and pipe line from position open such as : fuel oil inlet
and outlet valve , feed water valve , discharge sludge valve,..
 Turn on switch panel
 Push the start button on the start-up purifier and pay attention load current
for motor stable
 After carry out discharge sludge
 Push the button feeding oil
 Adjust feed rate and heating temperature , pressure fuel oil outlet
 Then Push the button feeding alarm
 Checking around purifier

3 .How to discharge sludge

 Stop feeding oil and turn off feeding alarm
 Open manual handle of sealing water valve to supply the replace water for
the bowl
 Open manual handle of bowl opening valve about 3 seconds to supply the
operating water for the bowl
 For closing the bowl open the manual handle of the bowl closing valve for
20-30 seconds to supply the operating water for the closing bowl
 Then return open sealing water valve .
4. What parameter should you pay attention to during
operation of purifier
 Separating temperature ( maxium heating temperature with HFO 980C and
L.O 900C )
 Separating capacity
 Outlet oil pressure
 Load curent
 Time of discharging sludge
 Vibration

5. Can you tell me how do you choose correct gravity disc for
your purifier
 I choose follow instruction manual book
 I using chart monogram
 Including 3 parameter such as : density at 150C , heating temperature , feed
rate

6. What troubles did you encounter with purifier

 Overflowed oil at discharge sludge port
 Overflowed oil at heavy liquid outlet
 Sludge cannot discharge
 Rough vibration on purifier

7. What are the reasons for overflowing oil at discharge

sludge port
 Loss of bowl closing water
 Main seal ring is damaged
 O ring of sliding bowl bottom are damaged
 Pilot valve is out of order
 Inadequate revolution of the separating bowl
8. What are the reasons for overflowing oil at heavy liquid
outlet
 Wrongly selected gravity disc too big
 Loss of sealing water
 Separating temperature is too low
 Sealing ring at gravity disc is damaged

9. If your purifier are running in good condition , suddenly

happen abnormally sound , what do you thing and will you
do
 I stop purifier and I search reasons of abnormally sound
 May be bearing of motor horizontal shaft is damaged and fuel oil feed pump
is broken ,…
