Problem:
Consider a cylinder containing 2 moles of an ideal gas at an initial
temperature of 300 K and a pressure of 1 atm. The gas undergoes an
isothermal expansion against a constant external pressure of 0.5 atm,
causing the volume of the gas to increase from 2 L to 4 L.
1. Calculate the initial and final internal energies of the gas.
2. Determine the work done by the gas during the expansion.
3. Find the heat exchanged during the process.
4. Calculate the change in temperature of the gas.
