MIDTERM-PROJECT

1. WAR
SCENARIO: The war between Palestine and Israel can have some indirect effects on the GDP of the
Philippines. Even though the Philippines is far away from the conflict, what happens in other parts of the
world can still influence our country's economy. The conflict could also make things more expensive for
us. The Middle East is a big supplier of oil, and if there are problems there, the prices of oil might go up.
Since the Philippines buys a lot of oil, this could increase the cost of making things and transportation.
When the costs go up, it can make everything from food to gadgets more expensive for us.
2. GLOBAL PANDEMIC
SCENARIO: These past few years, the COVID-19 pandemic has become a worldwide health crisis.
Many people lost their jobs or had to work less because of the pandemic. It's like a lot of families
suddenly had less money coming in. That means less money moving around in our economy, and it
affects businesses, especially the small ones that are like the heartbeat of our communities.
3. GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION
SCENARIO: Firstly, when government officials are corrupt, they might take money that's supposed to be
used for important things like building schools, hospitals, and roads. If the money doesn't go where it's
supposed to, these projects might not happen, or they might not be as good as they could be. Second, it
affects our daily lives because we might not have good schools or hospitals that are necessary for
economic growth and lastly, our roads might be bumpy and not safe that’s why I want to become a Civil
4. NATURAL DISASTERS
SCENARIO: Like the ants that are busy making soil houses (Anthills), we, people the destroyer; a
natural disaster in their perspective. Imagine if our room suddenly gets hit by a storm, and things get
damaged or lost. It's a mess, and we have to spend time and money to fix everything. That's kind of
what happens to a country when there's a natural disaster strike that can massively impact the GDP.
5. TRADE BARRIERS
SCENARIO: China makes so many things, and they sell them at really low prices. It's like having a
friend who has the coolest toys and clothes, but they sell them super cheap. That might sound
awesome, but it's not so great for us trying to sell our own stuff. People see the cool Chinese things, and
they buy those instead of ours. So, it's like our local businesses can't compete, and that's a bit tough.
6. INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
SCENARIO: Imagine building a strong foundation for a tree. The stronger the foundation, the taller the
tree can grow. Similarly, good infrastructure is like a strong foundation for our country. Having reliable
electricity, clean water, and good internet. These are all part of the infrastructure. When we have these
things, life becomes easier. Businesses can operate smoothly, and students can study better. It's like
7. AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY
SCENARIO: Technology in agriculture is like giving our farmers superhero tools. It's not just about
growing more food; it's about growing the country's wealth. Technology helps farmers grow more food.
Imagine if our farmers had a magical tablet/device that told them exactly when to plant and how much
water each plant needed. That's kind of what technology does for farmers. They use cool gadgets and
apps to know the best times to plant and harvest. This means more crops, and when there's more food,
the more resources we have to sell or export which greatly impacts our GDP.
secret weapon we all have. It's not just about books and classrooms; it's about shaping the future of our
whole country and making it rich in more ways than one. When we get a good education, it's like
unlocking our superpowers. We learn skills that can help us get better jobs when we grow up. Imagine if
everyone in our country had really awesome jobs. That means more people working, making money,
renewable energy, it's like having our own power plants powered by the sun, wind, and water. That
means less money going out of the country to buy fuel and more money can save for our GDP.
and being drawn to those amazing and unique art pieces scattered across cities and towns. Tourists
spend money on accommodations, local transportation, food, and souvenirs, and buy expensive
paintings based only on our skill set contributing directly to the economy.
