QA Responsibilities

1. Teacher Planning Committee:

 The committee consists of subject matter experts who create the lessons, i.e., PowerPoint
presentations along with the activities and resources.
 They follow established guidelines within the template and the standards for content,
formatting, and instructional design.
 They ensure the lessons follow the pacing chart provided by the Curriculum Development
Specialist.
 The committee conducts a peer review process to ensure accuracy, variety, and quality.
 Once the lesson and resources are ready, it is submitted to the team leader for a final
review.

2. Team Leader Review:

 The team leader is responsible for checking if all the requirements have been met and there
is a variety of tasks.
 They will ensure regular updates to a KPI tracker.
 They review the PowerPoint presentation, activities, and resources for content alignment
with the curriculum objectives and teaching standards.
 The team leader provides feedback to the committee for improvement, suggesting
modifications, variations of task or enhancements, as necessary.
 Once the feedback is provided, the team leader submits the presentation to the Curriculum
Development Specialist, for final approval.

3. Curriculum Development Specialist Review:

 The Curriculum Development Specialist verifies the pacing and Key Performance Indicator
(KPI) coverage, by using a KPI tracker.
 Feedback is given to the team leader and committee regarding pacing adjustments or
additional content if needed.
 Once approved, the presentation is published for all teachers to access.

4. Academic Vice Principal's Audit:

 The Academic Vice Principal’s will perform a comprehensive audit of the presentations at
certain checkpoints, (i.e., mid-term 1, end of term 1, mid-term 2, end of term 2).
 They review the content, instructional strategies, alignment with curriculum standards,
variety of learning activity and overall quality.
 The audit ensures consistency across grade levels, across core subjects and adherence to
established guidelines.
 Feedback and suggestions for improvement are provided to the team leader, committee,
and curriculum development specialist.
 The Academic Vice Principal’s may recommend further revisions or approve the
presentation for implementation.

VPA Sampling

To sample lessons across grades 9-12 and subjects (English, Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Arabic) and
ensure cross-checking among the six academic vice principals, the following approach can be implemented:

1. Assignment of Subject Specialisms:

 Each Academic Vice Principal is assigned a subject specialism based on their expertise.
 The subject specialisms are distributed among the VPs, ensuring that each subject is
covered by at least one VP.
 For example, VP1 specializes in English, VP2 specializes in Math, VP3 specializes in Biology,
and so on.

2. Sampling Process:
 The Academic Vice Principal’s will collaborate to create a sampling plan to cover all subjects
and grades.
 The plan outlines the number of lessons to be sampled per subject and grade level.
 Each VP selects the lessons to be sampled within their subject specialism and designated
grade levels.
 The lessons can be chosen randomly or based on predetermined criteria, such as diversity
of topics or difficulty level.

Random generated samples (3-4 per VP)

Grade GEN ADV ASP
9 VP1 En VP2 Sci VP5 Ma
10 VP5 Ma VP1 En VP2 Sci
11 VP4 Sci VP6 Ma VP2 En
12 VP2 En VP4 Sci VP6 Ma

3. Lesson Evaluation:
 Each Academic Vice Principal evaluates the sampled lessons within their subject specialism.
 They assess the quality of the lesson’s presentation and resources, teaching strategies,
content delivery, and adherence to curriculum standards.
 Evaluation criteria may include clarity of objectives, engagement of students, accuracy of
information, and appropriateness of assessment methods.
 VPs take notes and record their observations, identifying strengths and areas for
improvement in each lesson.

4. Cross-Checking and Feedback:

 After evaluating the sampled lessons, the Academic Vice Principal’s will engage in cross-
checking and feedback sessions.
 Each VP shares their findings, insights, and recommendations with the other VPs during
these sessions.
 They discuss common trends, identify best practices, and exchange feedback to enhance
the quality of teaching and learning across subjects and grade levels.
 This cross-checking process promotes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and consistent
evaluation standards.

5. Consolidation and Reporting:

 The Academic Vice Principal’s will consolidate the evaluation findings and cross-checking
outcomes.
 They compile a comprehensive report summarizing the strengths, areas for improvement,
and recommendations for each subject and grade level.
 The report highlights noteworthy practices, identifies any systemic issues, and proposes
strategies for improvement.
 The report is shared with the school administration, teaching staff, and relevant
stakeholders for further action and implementation.

Lesson Labeling

The naming convention is to be consistent across subjects and is to be agreed on as a team. See examples below…
