ACCOMMODATION
a. Suite Room
Suite is the most expensive room in a hotel.
Usually suite is larger than a normal room.
This type of room is geared to the needs of
wealthy people and VIPs.
The furnishings and fixtures are expensive
and exotic.
Normally suite has a king-size bed and
consists of two or more rooms, kitchenette
and conference room.
Suites often have beautiful view or scenery
and the best available location.

b. Deluxe Room
This type of room normally represents the
maximum rate charged by the hotel for a
regular size sleeping room.
Normally the standard and size of the
rooms and facilities offered are suited to

Bedding includes queen or king-size bed.
The room has a considerable high level of
comfort, furnishings and décor, and its
location is the next best available.

Generally it represents the moderate
or medium rate type of room.

a. Rack Rate
ACCOMMODATION
The highest room rate charged by a hotel,
such as a walk-in who requests a room for
the night.
It is the hotel’s normal room rate, which
means a standard rate for the room, with

ACCOMMODATION
Room rates offered to business people
staying in the hotel.
This category can be further broken down
into business people who are frequent

ACCOMMODATION
Room rates offered to large groups of
people visiting the hotel for a common
reason.
The marketing and sales department
usually negotiates this rate with a travel
agency or with a professional organization.
For example, a travel or tour agent may be
granted a group rate for a bus group of 40
tourists.

ACCOMMODATION
Room rates for business people who
represent a company and have infrequent
or sporadic patterns of travel.
Collectively this group can be a major
segment of hotel guests and thus warrants

associated with their frequent guest stay
program to encourage guest to
accumulate points toward upgrades in
rooms or free room stays

Lawyers may want to rent a room to
maintain privacy while taking a deposition
from a witness
