A symbate is a strange automaton with a baroque collection of metallic segments instead
of obvious limbs. It manipulates matter to burrow or fly through the air, or for reasons unknown, scuttle along on the ground. Symbates are remote avatars of Arcerill, a being of immense size that floats in the void in Moonlike in its pocked Earth’s vicinity, though it sometimes goes on excursions to other, unknown places. After a surface and shape, period of activity lasting from months to years, each symbate returns to Arcerill. This effect allows a symbate to regain up to 4 points of health per round, making it difficult to land a killing blow on it. Interaction: A symbate can speak a variety of languages, and if intrigued by an offer or plea, it can turn off its dissociative field for a period of time. A symbate is big on describing the majesty and power of Arcerill, but consistently short on detail. Use: The path of a symbate is a trail of fine, ashy dust, whether it leads through the ground, city structures, or creatures. The PCs find such a trail and can decide whether to trace it to whatever created it.
