About Company
Mahindra Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate, headquartered in Mumbai. The
group has operations in over 100 countries, with a presence
in aerospace, agribusiness, aftermarket automotive components, construction
equipment, defence, energy, farm equipment, finance and insurance, industrial
equipment, information technology, leisure and hospitality, logistics, real
estate, retail and education. The group's flagship company Mahindra & Mahindra has market
leadership in utility vehicles as well as tractors in India.

Mahindra & Mahindra was incorporated as Mahindra & Mohammed in 1945 by the
brothers J. C. Mahindra and K. C. Mahindra, and Malik Ghulam
Muhammad in Ludhiana, Punjab to trade steel. Following the Partition of India in 1947,
Malik Ghulam Muhammad left the company and emigrated to Pakistan, where he became the
first finance minister of the new state (and later the third Governor General in 1951). In 1948,
K. C. Mahindra changed the company's name to Mahindra & Mahindra.

Building on their expertise in the steel industry, the Mahindra brothers began trading steel
with UK suppliers. They won a contract to manufacture Willys Jeeps in India and began
producing them in 1947. By 1956, the company was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange,
and by 1969 the company became an exporter of utility vehicles and spare parts. Like many
Indian companies, Mahindra responded to the restrictions of the Licence Raj by expanding
into other industries. Mahindra & Mahindra created a tractor division in 1982 and a tech
division (now Tech Mahindra) in 1986. It has continued to diversify its operations through
both joint ventures and greenfield investments.

By 1994, the group had become so diverse that it undertook a fundamental reorganization,
dividing into six Strategic Business Units: Automotive; Farm
Equipment; Infrastructure; Trade and Financial services; Information Technology; and
Automotive Components (known internally as Systech). The new managing director, Anand
Mahindra, followed this reorganization with a new logo in 2000 and the successful launch of
the Mahindra Scorpio (a wholly indigenously designed vehicle) in 2002. Along with an
overhaul in production and manufacturing methods, these changes helped make the company
more competitive, and since then the Group's reputation and revenues have risen noticeably.
Currently, Mahindra & Mahindra is one of the 20 largest companies in India In 2009, Forbes
ranked Mahindra among the top 200 most reputable companies in the world.
In January 2011, the Mahindra Group launched a new corporate brand, Mahindra Rise, to
unify Mahindra's image across industries and geographies. The brand positions Mahindra
products and services as aspirational, supporting customers' ambitions to 'Rise.'
In April 2012, the Mahindra Group expressed interest in purchasing the bankrupt automobile
company Saab, and placed several bids for Saab, though was outbid by Saab's new
owner National Electric Vehicle.

and assistance to customers.

6. Quality Assurance: Monitoring and evaluating the quality of customer interactions to

identify areas for improvement and ensuring consistent service excellence.

Steps followed by customer for the services

Customers visiting an automobile workshop typically follow a series of steps to have their
vehicles serviced or repaired efficiently. These steps ensure a smooth process and satisfactory
service experience. Here's a detailed explanation of the typical steps a customer goes through
when visiting an automobile workshop:
1. Appointment Scheduling:
 The process begins when the customer realizes their vehicle needs servicing or
repairs.
 They contact the workshop to schedule an appointment. Some workshops
allow online booking for added convenience.
 During this initial conversation, the customer might discuss the issues they are
facing and request an estimate.
2. Vehicle Drop-Off:
 On the scheduled day, the customer arrives at the workshop.
 They provide their vehicle details, keys, and any relevant information to the
service advisor or receptionist.
 The customer may also receive a service order or repair order with a unique
reference number for tracking purposes.
3. Diagnostic Inspection:
 The workshop's technicians perform a diagnostic inspection to identify the
issues with the vehicle.
 This may include computerized scans, visual inspections, and discussions with
the customer to understand specific problems.
 Based on this assessment, a detailed repair plan and estimate are prepared.
4. Service Authorization:
 The service advisor communicates the diagnostic findings and the proposed
repairs or services to the customer.
 The customer reviews the estimate, approves the work, and signs off on it.
 Any additional repairs or services discovered during the process require
customer consent before being carried out.
5. Parts Procurement:
 If replacement parts are required, the workshop orders them from suppliers or
from their own inventory.
 Customers are informed of any necessary parts replacements and may be
provided with details about the parts used, including brand and warranty
information.
6. Service/Repair Execution:
 The technicians start working on the vehicle, following the repair plan and
utilizing specialized tools and equipment.
 They may update the customer on the progress and inform them of any
unexpected issues that arise during the repair process.
7. Quality Control and Testing:
 After completing the repairs, the vehicle goes through a quality control check.
 Technicians ensure that all systems are functioning correctly and that the
vehicle is safe to drive.
8. Service Report and Documentation:
 A detailed service report is prepared, documenting all the work performed,
parts replaced, and any additional recommendations.
 The customer is provided with this report for their records.
9. Final Inspection:
 The customer's vehicle is thoroughly cleaned and detailed to ensure it's
returned in a clean and presentable condition.
 Technicians perform a final inspection to double-check all repairs and
services.
10. Payment and Invoice:
 The customer receives an invoice that includes the cost of labor, parts, and any
additional charges.
 Payment is typically made at this point, and customers can choose from
various payment methods, including cash, credit/debit cards, or online
payments.
11. Customer Feedback and Satisfaction Survey:
 Many workshops seek feedback from customers to gauge their satisfaction
with the service provided.
 Customers are encouraged to provide input on their experience, which can
help the workshop improve its services.
12. Vehicle Pickup:
 The customer is notified that their vehicle is ready for pickup.
 They return to the workshop, present the service order or repair order, and
receive their vehicle and keys.
13. Explanation of Work Done:
 A service advisor or technician may provide the customer with a brief
explanation of the work performed, highlighting any important maintenance
tips or post-repair instructions.
14. Follow-Up and Maintenance Schedule:
 The workshop may remind the customer of any recommended future
maintenance or service appointments.
 They can also discuss a maintenance schedule tailored to the vehicle's needs.
15. Customer Departure:
 The customer leaves the workshop with their serviced or repaired vehicle,
satisfied with the professional service they received.
