nucleic acid form SARS-CoV-2 (COVID -19): not for
any other viruses or pathogens
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS:
1. Detected results indicative of the presence or SARS-CoV-2 RNA
clinical correlation with patient history and other diagnostic
information is necessary to determine patient infection status.
Positive results do not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection
with other viruses.
2. Not detected results do not preclude SARS-CoV-2 infection and should
not be used as the sole basis for patient management decisions.
Negative results must be combined with clinical observation,
patient history, and epidemiological information.
3. Presumptive positive result indicates additional confirmatory testing
should be considered if it is necesary to differentiatie between
SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV-1 or other SARBECOVIRUS unknown to infect humans
4. An invalid results indicates all target results were invalid,
new specimen should be obtained.
Physicians need to avoid patient treatment based solely on any single test
result and should interpret all results in the context of other clinical
and laboratory features.
