Project Health and Safety Plan
GRP-HS-010-002

1.0 Introduction

AL RAJHI PROJECTS recognises the importance of planning health and safety into projects
at the earliest possible stage, if injuries and ill health arising from construction activities
are to be avoided. A Project Health & Safety plan should therefore be prepared to describe
the approach to managing and controlling the works in order to protect the health, safety
and welfare of all personnel engaged on a project and others who may be affected by
company operations.
Reference should also be made to the procedures and work instructions in the Health and
Safety (HS) section of the AL RAJHI PROJECTS Integrated Management System.
The Company will actively seek the support of all operatives engaged on a project to look
after the health and safety of themselves and their colleagues by working within the spirit
of this plan. Any person found to be disregarding its requirements will be subject to
disciplinary action, which may result in their dismissal from the project.
The Plan will also govern the activities performed by subcontractors to AL RAJHI
PROJECTS.

2.0 Objectives
The Project Health and Safety Plan is designed to prevent construction accidents and
illnesses and to strive towards a target of zero accidents.

3.0 Methodology
The above objectives shall be achieved by the following methodology:
• Compliance with the client’s safety procedures
• Compliance with project fire, environment and safety regulations
• Periodic safety training for employees
• Periodic and regular safety inspections to rectify unsafe conditions
• Periodic maintenance and inspection of construction equipment
• Improving safety awareness through safety publicity, safety competitions etc
• Recognising that safety is a line management responsibility, where foremen and
first line supervisors are the key personnel for supervising safety
• Proper waste management
• Engineering revision and safety suggestion schemes
• Where practicable, through the use of environmentally-friendly materials
