NARRATIVE REPORT
(EARTHQUAKE AND FIRE DRILL)

Earthquake and fire drills- why is it important? Every school, regardless of its size, needs
to carry out earthquake and fire drills on a regular basis, as it will help students and teachers
know what to do during these disasters. All earthquake and fire preparedness measures,
earthquake and fire drills are most important. Their purpose is to help students and staff learn
how to react immediately and appropriately. Earthquakes and fires are some of the famous
disasters that can kill lots of people and it can also damage some properties. Having knowledge
about earthquake and fire drills can really help us in our daily lives.
In line with the campaign to be safe of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Council or NDRRMC that was empowered by the school RCVFMI conducted the
earthquake and fire drill in the school campus last September 28, 2021 at exactly 9 o’clock in the
morning. The representative for the earthquake drill was Mr. Jeron Legrosas and FO1 Edcel
Cardiente for the fire drill.
During the lecture about the earthquake drill, Mr. Legrosas discussed about the two types
of earthquake, the volcanic and tectonic. The volcanic earthquake is caused by volcanic eruption,
and the tectonic earthquake is caused by sudden movement of faults and plate boundaries. He
also thought us about what we were going to do before, during, and after earthquake. Lastly, He
thought us about the four types of collapse after or during the earthquake.
After conducting the earthquake drill, they instructed all the students and also the
teachers of what to do during the earthquake. The siren sound was on as a signal that the
earthquake is currently happening. Everyone ducked, covered and hold themselves under the
chairs and tables. After that, the student evacuate themselves according to the designated area
then they did a headcount to make sure that the students are complete and safe.
For the fire drill, FO1 Edcel Cardiente stated the caused, effects and the importance of
fire drills. And then, He discussed about the causes and effects of fire. Then He shared about the
places that they have rescued and its reason. He then talked about what to do to prevent and what
we should during when there is a fire. They also thought us about how to use the fire hydrant.
After the fire drill, some volunteered to use the fire drill to put out the fire and after that
the earthquake and the fire drill ended up nicely.
