Standard definition of beauty
I think the most standard definition of
beauty is that it’s pleasing. You see, people

in history have tried to define beauty.
Although, like any other societal standard,
it can be subject to a paradigm shift. Take,
for example, Vincent Van Gogh, his art
during his time was considered mediocre
but is now known as exceptional. It just
shows how progressive the beauty in the
art could be.
How does beauty relate to art?
Should art always be about beauty?
There is more to art than just beauty.
I believe that art should be about
transparency. Art should have
personality. Saying that art shouldn’t
have to be beautiful does not equate

inherently beautiful. You know what,
there is such a thing as avant garde in
art and I highly applaud this style
because it involves risks and
genuinity. Because if you torment
yourself into making your work
“likable” without really feeling it, it
will come off as ingenuine, and you
would just be doing a disservice to
yourself.
What is beauty?

I believe that beauty has more to it
than just physical satisfaction. Beauty
exists in the minds discerned by the
societal standards that go along over
the years. Although, the meaning of
beauty does not stop there. It has
underlying concepts that make it such
a powerful tool in our society and could
be beneficial for many unless it gets
exploited. Beauty can be favorable and
harmful, depending on where we place
ourselves along its wavelength.
Both art and beauty have character –
they are dynamic. Beauty is relative to

art as different aesthetics make up the
industry. It has various combinations
of qualities that are compelling to
people.
I will like to think otherwise. Beauty
might be subjective, yes. Although, it is
relative as well. If we agree that it lies
in different perspectives, we are already
closing the door for more sense. The
phrase would then translate that it does
not equate to fairness. It outright
disregards what it truly is. Because if

so, then it would simply mean that we
are free to do whatever we want in this
world, and however we want to, all
because “beauty is in the eye of the
beholder.”
