Course Description

This course is designed to provide the basic knowledge about


Semitic and non-Semitic religions of the world. This course will not
only provide information about the teachings and Holy books of
the world-famous religions but also provide a comprehensive
information about the history and Leading personalities of these
religions. In this course the students will disclose the necessary
information regarding the world religion to provide an analytical
and insightful knowledge about different religions. In short this
course deals with the history, important teachings, sacred books
and key figures of different religions.

Course Objective and Goals

 Highlight the importance of Religion in Human life and


Society.

 Provide students the necessary information about major


religions of the world which is based upon the History, Key
Figures, Sacred Books, basic Dogmas and Teachings of
world religion.

 To provide with such an understanding about different


religions which minimize biases about other religions.

 To induce Scientific and Analytical approach towards the


study and understanding of world religions.

Course Policies and Rules

 Students will be provided with handouts and lecture notes based on an introduction
to the basic questions on each topic and key points of interest will be identified.
 Students will carefully study the proposed material in the light of the handout,
prepare their questions and actively participate in the group discussion.
 Students will have to submit assigned assignments and Quizzes on time.
