Study Reason
pain in knee left
Result
Indication: ?Left knee pain.
Protocol:????Sag ? PD, PDFS, T2, T1
Axial ? PDFS, T2
Coronal ? T1, PDFS
Findings:
Mild thickening and hyperintense signal are noted in anterior cruciate ligament on PDFS images. Parallelism of anterior
cruciate ligament is preserved with respect to the Blumensaat?s line.
Minimal joint effusion is noted in tibiofemoral and patellofemoral joints. Small Baker's cyst is noted.
Grade III horizontal tear of posterior horn of medial meniscus is noted. Grade I hyperintense signal is noted in posterior horn
of lateral meniscus and anterior, posterior horns of medial, lateral menisci.
Grade IV chondromalacia patellae noted in medial facet of patellar cartilage.
Posterior cruciate ligament is normal in morphology and signal intensity.
Medial and lateral patellar retinacula are?normal in morphology and signal intensity.
Medial and lateral collateral ligaments are normal in morphology and signal intensity.
Alignment of tibiofemoral and patellofemoral joints is normal.
Cartilage covering tibial, femoral condyles and patella is normal in morphology and signal intensity. The cartilaginous
surface is smooth.
The bones compromising the knee joint show normal configuration and position. ?The bone marrow signal is normal, with a
normal trabecular pattern.
The soft tissues surrounding the knee joint and the imaged vascular structures are unremarkable.
IMPRESSION:??MR findings suggestive of:
* Grade I prain noted in anterior cruciate ligament.
* Minimal joint effusion is noted in tibiofemoral and patellofemoral joints. Small Baker's cyst is noted.
* Grade III horizontal tear of posterior horn of medial meniscus is noted. Grade I hyperintense signal is noted in posterior
horn of lateral meniscus and anterior, posterior horns of medial, lateral menisci.
* Grade IV chondromalacia patellae noted in medial facet of patellar cartilage.
