1. Diagram Description

 Switch - use to control the flow of current in the circuit

 Pivot - deliver the turning force from one part to another part
 Battery - stores chemical energy and converts it to electrical energy
 Rubber band - help hold the wheel to the structure of the object
 Wheel - helps allow object to roll along, used to help turn the object with more force
 Motor - generate electricity, convert electrical energy into mechanical energy
 Electrical wires - provide a low resistance path for the current to flow through

4. Formula and calculations – write all formula with calculation related to your
project.

 Force (n) = mass (kg) × acceleration (m/s)2

 Weight (n) = Mass (kg) × Acceleration due to Gravity (m/s) 2

 Average Speed (m/s) = Total Distance Traveled (m) ÷ Total Time Taken(s)

 Acceleration (m/s) 2 = Change in Velocity (m/s) ÷ Change in Time (s)

 Friction (n) = measure of amount of friction × Normal Force (n)

 Work (j) = Force (n) × Distance (m)

 Average Velocity (m/s) = Total displacement (m) ÷ Total Time (s)

 Power (w) = Work (j) ÷ Time (s)

 Kinetic Energy (j) = Mass (kg) × (Velocity2 (m/s) ÷ 2)

 Momentum (kg × m/s) = Mass (kg) × Velocity (m/s)

 Efficiency = Output Energy / Input Energy

5. Practical use of your project in real life scenario

Practical Use

In a real-life scenario, a practical use of my project would also be mechanical or

technological devices that also use batteries as a source of power. For instance, in my worm
model, it utilizes energy from the battery. In order for my worm model to operate, it must take
the power from the batteries to move. Batteries are
devices that stores chemical energy and converts it into
electrical energy. The chemical reactions in a battery
involve the flow of electrons, through the electrical
wires. In real life, we are able to use batteries for
8

electronic devices such as remotes, toys, clocks, and cell phones. Batteries are also used
throughout motor engines used to power transportations such as cars, buses, or motorcycles. In
my worm model, it has wheels like a car, and a practical use of it in real life could be in cars.

Another practical use of my worm model is that it could be part of a whole machine. For

example, it could be one of the parts in a machine used to move and bring and supply energy to

the main function that needs energy and power in order to function. We could even use it as a

machine used to carry heavy things from the downhill of mountains to uphill where the slope is

steep, it will help get the job done faster and easier.

Modifications
9

A possible modification that could be added to the worm model, is that we can add a tray or a

bowl to put things that we need to transport it from one place to another. We could use the worm

with the tray on top of it as a messenger so that we don’t have to walk to take things from one

place to another. Another possible modification is the make the worm model bigger so that it

would be able to handle the weight of heavy objects when needed to transport it.

6. What did you learn from this

project, what difficulty did you face and how did you overcome these problems ?

There are many lessons that I have learned from this project. In the assembling part, I have

learned that constructing and assembling things are not an easy task at all. It takes a lot of

determination and perseverance to be able to accomplish doing a job. I learned that I should

observe and read the instructions clearly and not just quickly do the project to get it done. I have

learned to always check if I’m doing it correctly in each step or stage of the assembling. I also

learned that I should assemble things in a patient manner instead of a forceful one. I should try to

be patient and when assembling it, I should not use force but learn how to assemble it in a correct

way. To overcome being impatient, I took breaks to avoid being too tired and forceful. I also

learned that if I was forceful in assembling it, I could break some pieces and that could have a

bad result. I tried to be gentle while assembling it more.

I also learned many practical uses of the worm that I can use in real life. Such as using it as a

transportation or as a messenger to transport things from one place to another.
