Performance Task No. 2 (Individual)

Title: "In Rizal's Footsteps: A Poetic Tribute to Mothers"

"Mi Primera Inspiración" (My First Inspiration) is a touching and heartfelt poem written by the
Philippine national hero, Jose Rizal. In this piece, Rizal pays tribute to his mother, Doña Teodora Alonso,
expressing deep gratitude for the love, guidance, and sacrifices she bestowed upon him. He beautifully
captures the essence of a mother's role in shaping a child's character and values.
In connection with this, you are going to write heartfelt remarks to your mother or acting mother
through poem to honor their self-less devotion and the great influence they make on the lives of their
children. Please follow the guidelines below.

Format:

• Handwritten
• Tagalog
• Any poetic form will do

Guidelines:
• Introduction: Begin your poem by addressing your mother in a heartfelt manner. Use warm and
affectionate words to express your love and appreciation.
• Reference to Rizal's Values: Since you're studying Rizal, incorporate some of the values he believed
in, such as love for country, family, and education. Mention how your mother, like Rizal, embodies
these values in her own way.
• Personal Touch: Share personal anecdotes or memories that highlight the unique qualities of your
mother. It could be a specific moment or a trait that you admire. Rizal's works often had personal
touches, so this would align well with the theme.
• Express Gratitude: Thank your mother for the sacrifices she has made and the love she has given.
You can draw parallels to Rizal's gratitude towards his own mother and how it shaped his character.
• Inspiration for the Future: Connect your mother's influence to your aspirations and dreams. Rizal's
works were often inspirational, so convey how your mother motivates you to achieve your goals and
make a positive impact.
• Closing Lines: End the poem with a beautiful and sincere closing. You can express your everlasting
love and appreciation, similar to how Rizal's writings often ended on a hopeful or reflective note.
• This activity is encouraging your creativity and personal expression through poem. This activity is not
just about mimicking Rizal's style but also about using his values and ideas as inspiration for a
heartfelt tribute to their mothers.

Title: Novel Narratives on Canvas: A Visual Exploration

Each group from performance task no. 4 will create a visual artwork, such as paintings or drawings,
that represents one key scene from the novel based on the novel to which they are assigned. They should
provide a statement explaining their choices.

Deadline: January 15-18, 2024

Criteria:

1. Adherence to Scene Description (25 points):


- Does the artwork accurately depict the key scene from the novel?
- Are the characters and elements portrayed in line with the descriptions in the text?

2. Creativity and Interpretation (20 points):


- Does the artist bring a unique perspective or interpretation to the scene?
- Are there creative elements that enhance or add depth to the portrayal?

3. Use of Color and Mood (15 points):


- How well does the artist use color to convey the mood and atmosphere of the scene?
- Are the color choices appropriate for the emotional tone of the moment?

4. Composition and Layout (20 points):


- Is the composition well-balanced and visually appealing?
- Does the arrangement of characters and elements guide the viewer's focus appropriately?

5. Detail and Technique (15 points):


- Are there fine details that showcase the artist's skill and attention to the source material?
- Does the technique used (e.g., shading, perspective) enhance the overall quality of the artwork?

6. Connection to the Text (5 points):


- Does the artwork effectively communicate the essence and significance of the selected scene?
- Can viewers easily identify the key elements related to the narrative?
