Subject: 2010 MaxxForce® 11 and MaxxForce 13 Engine Training for Technicians

DESCRIPTION
In conjunction with the release of the new 2010 MaxxForce® 11 and MaxxForce 13 Engine Training for
Technicians, Dealer Education has developed an in-depth, self-study, web-based training course (SD1005).
Program Length: 107 minutes. This course is designed to enhance the skills of technicians involved in the
day-to-day repair of the 2010 MaxxForce® 11 and MaxxForce 13 Engine.

For this reason, every dealership in North America must participate in this critical educational process. In
order to achieve our educational goal, every technician that will be working on the 2010 MaxxForce® 11 and
MaxxForce 13 engine must complete this web-based training program.

The course introduces technicians to the 2010 MaxxForce® 11 and MaxxForce 13 Engine changes and
operational improvements. At the conclusion of the program, technicians will take an exam in the learning
management system.

The web-based format allows technicians to complete the training at their own pace. The program is divided
into seven modules. This course covers the following systems: Mechanical System and Engine Braking,
Lubrication, Cooling, Fuel, Air Management, Aftertreatment, and Cold Start Assist.

By the end of this course, a student will be able to: Identify the operation of major engine systems, locate
primary engine components, and trace the flow of engine fluids.

For future reference, this program will be a 2011 International Technician Certification requirement as
well as a 2011 Diamond Club required course.
