MONTHLY SAFETY CAMPAIGN: LIFTING SAFETY


v LIFTING OPERATION – Planning and selection of suitable work environment and equipment.
v LIFTING GEAR - Inspect the chain block and slings prior to use and apply color coding.
v MANLIFT (MEWP) - Maintain a safe distance from overhead obstacles.
v LIFTING EQUIPMENT INSPECTION - Comply with the daily pre use inspection and report supervisor any defect or malfunctions.
v MANUAL HANDLING – Work from a stable place and lift with your knees.

WEEKLY FOCUS: MANLIFT OPERATION


v Sat - All operators should have a Third-party training & work at Height training before operating the Manlift.
v Sun - Conduct daily inspection and fill out the checklist, in case there's any defections report to the supervisor.
v Mon - Maintain suitable and maintained barricades around working areas.
v Tue - Assign competent flagman before operation.
v Wed - Always consider weather when conducting height work and avoid operation in wind conditions exceeding 9 m/s.
v Thu - Don’t use MEWP to access elevated area, and don’t climb up from MEWP basket.

MANLIFT OPERATION
Safe Rules for using a MEWP / Manlift on operations:
Permit To Work Process
• JGC/HDEC reviews permit package for necessary documents.
• PTW can be rejected if not met the requirements.
• Physical checks at work location after permit approval.
• Work should be suspended during orange / red flag.

Competency & Training:


• Third-party training for all operators.
• JGC/HDEC conducts Competency assessment and the operator should pass it.
• Full HSE induction and WAH training for operators and worker on basket.

Daily Pre-Use Inspection:


• Conduct daily inspection and fill out checklist.
• Report defects to supervisor.

Inspect your Surroundings:


• Confirm ground stability and check overhead clearance.
• Maintain a 1-meter distance from Obstacles.
• Assign experienced flagmen for safe work.
• Maintain suitable and maintained barricades around working areas.

Follow Safe Rules In Operating a Manlift: Safety Campaign: Lifting Safety


• Lower lift platform for proper control of boom and platform.
• Avoid operation in wind conditions exceeding 9 m/s.
• Always consider weather when conducting height work.
• Use suitable STARRT and Step back 5x5 for safe work setup.
• Avoid climbing on rails or out of basket for operators or worker on basket.
