RECOMMENDATION

6.1 Explain in detail the proposed control measures in accordance to the hierarchy of
risk control (preventive and corrective) for the most critical SAFETY HAZARD.

There is a welding station that close to the electrical supply in the workshop which are very
danger if there are any leaking at the electrical supply. Welding can produce sparkling when
the welding tools touch the surface of metal and steels. The process also will produce metal
chip with a high temperature which if any leaking the heat from the chip could be factor of
the combustion occurs in the workshop. To prevent it from happen, the welding station need
to place at the other place far from the electrical supply to avoid the sparkling from it. Also,
the electrical supply may cover by the board which have high heat resistant if the welding
station do not have any place to relocate.

Second, the unused metal or products do not place at the right position or place and they are
very close to the workstation. If the metal product is on the floor or in a walkway, it can
cause the workers or students step on the metal and could give them injury due to the sharp
edges on the products. For prevent it from happen, establish designated storage areas for
unused metal products. These areas should be away from workstations and pathways to
prevent the students from step on the products. The person in charge or teachers need to
encourage employees to keep their workstations organized and free from unnecessary
materials. Provide storage solutions such as shelves, cabinets, or bins to facilitate proper
organization.

6.2 Explain in detail the proposed control measures in accordance to the hierarchy of
risk control (preventive and corrective) for the most critical HEALTH HAZARD.

For safety hazard, there are some oil or chemical containers that do not have cap. Certain oils
are flammable, and without a cap, there is an increased risk of the oil coming into contact
with ignition sources. This could result in a fire hazard, especially if the oil container is stored
near heat sources or electrical equipment. Open containers pose a safety risk to individuals in
the vicinity. Users may accidentally come into contact with the oil, leading to skin irritation
or other health issues. Additionally, if the oil is stored in an area with heavy machinery or
equipment, the risk of accidents increases. To prevent these issues, it's essential to ensure that
oil containers are properly sealed with caps or lids when not in use. This helps maintain the
quality of the oil, prevents contamination, reduces the risk of spills, and promotes a safer
work environment. Always follow manufacturer recommendations for storage and handling
of specific types of oils, and adhere to safety guidelines and regulations applicable to your
workplace.

Then, the students do not wear ear plug when working on the noise machine. One of the most
significant and common consequences of exposure to high noise is hearing loss. Prolonged
exposure to loud noises can damage the sensitive structures of the inner ear, leading to
permanent hearing impairment. For prevent it from happen, it's essential for employers to
implement noise control measures, such as engineering controls, administrative controls, and
personal protective equipment (such as earplugs or earmuffs). Additionally, regular
monitoring of noise levels, employee education and training, and the use of hearing
protection programs can help mitigate the risks associated with high noise exposure in the
workplace.

6.3 Explain the proposed review program on the effectiveness of the proposed control
measures in subsection 6.1 and 6.2.

The proposed review program is to increase the safety of the students from involved injury or
accident. It also helps to make the workshop as the safe place to the students to do their work.
There are some techniques or steps to ensure the workshop maintain their safety during the
student do their works.

Training and awareness

 The person in charge (PIC) need to give training to the students about the safety in the
workshop. it is to make sure the students know about the important to keep safe in the
workshop during working.
 PIC also need to prepared more poster about safety awareness in the workshop as
reminder to the students.

Regular Inspection

 The teachers need to do regular inspection to the student’s workstation to keep the
safety in the workshop.
 The inspection also can help to reduce the risk of accident happen in the workshop.
Always Do Improvement About Safety

 Students or teachers need to work together to find any improvement to keep the safety
in the workshop.
 Do improvement if there are danger that can affect to the peoples even it is do not
effect to the serious injury.

6.4 Discuss the benefits of the recommendations in subsection 6.1 and 6.2 to the
organization.

The benefits of the recommendations are the school will enhance worker safety by
minimizing the risk of direct contact with the substances inside. This is particularly important
for chemicals that may be hazardous or harmful to human health. It also helps prevent skin
irritation or exposure to potentially dangerous fumes. Then, it also helps to reduce the risk of
accident in the workshop. Having unused products far from workstations minimizes the risk
of accidents, such as tripping over items or bumping into them, which can lead to injuries.
The workstation will look systematic and nice. An organized and clutter-free workspace
contributes to a professional and positive work environment. It can also improve the overall
aesthetics of the workplace. The student also will get a good condition of health because the
safety and environment in the workshop is totally safe to do their works. Their workshop also
can be as reference to other school due to the lack of accident occur in the workshop.
