Real Aikido (adults) Belts requirements:

YELLOW BELT

 Defense against a single-hand grab, same side — (first


form) a wrist lock with fixation on the chest

 Defense against a single-hand grab, same side — a


wrist lock and an elbow lock, an “outside” technique

 Defense against a single-hand grab, opposite side — a


wrist lock and an elbow lock

 Defense against a single-hand grab, same side — a


neck lock and a throw

 Defense against a single-hand grab, same side — a


wrist lock (rotational)

 Defense against shoulder, lapel or chest grab — a


wrist lock with fixation on the chest

 Defense against a strike in the head from above —


deflect it to the outside or implement an “entering”
technique
 Defense against a roundhouse punch on the side of
the head — interception and fixation on the shoulder,
a wrist lock

 Defense against one hand lapel grab from behind — a


wrist lock or an elbow lock

 Defense against a grab around the waist from behind


— a grab by the leg and a controlled throw

ORANGE BELT

 Defense against a single-hand grab, opposite side — a


wrist lock and an elbow lock

 Defense against a single-hand grab, same side — a


wrist lock (a grip fixated on the wrist)

 Defense against a both-hands grab — a wrist lock and


an elbow lock (an “outside” technique)

 Defense against a strike in the head from above —


interception and a wrist lock

 Defense against a roundhouse kick — a lock on the


heel (Achilles tendon)

 Defense against a roundhouse punch in the head — a


hand twist and a pinkie finger lock (passing under the
arm)

 Defense against both-hands grab — a wrist lock under


the armpit
 Defense against a strike in the head from above — a
neck lock and a throw

 Defense against a strike in the head from above — a


wrist lock, both hands grab one wrist

 Defense against a knife attack from below (blocking,


twisting of the arm and fixation)

GREEN BELT

 Defense against a roundhouse punch in the head — a


wrist lock and an elbow lock (inward movement with
twisting of the hand followed by an “outside”
technique)

 Defense against a fist punch in the stomach — a neck


lock and a throw

 Defense against a lapel grab — the head passes below


the arm, followed by a wrist lock and an elbow lock

 Defense against a roundhouse punch in the head —


inward movement accompanied by pulling of the arm
and an elbow lock

 Defense against a single-hand grab, same side —


deflect it to the outside and pass below the arm and
finish with a pinkie finger lock
 Defense against a strike in the head from above —
deflect it to the outside and pass below the arm and
finish with a pinkie finger lock

 Defense against a leg kick in the stomach — outward


interception, throw and pin

 Defense against a straight fist punch in the stomach —


a wrist lock (deflect it to the outside and grab with the
hands)

 Defense against a roundhouse punch in the head —


“entering” technique, grab with the forearm and a
throw by means of a slap

 Defense against a collar grab from behind — outward


turning movement and a neck lock

 Defense against both hands grabbing both hands,


from behind — passing and a pinkie finger lock

BLUE BELT

 Defense against a knife attack from above — deflect it


to the outside downwards by passing below the arm
and execute a wrist lock (apply the pressure on the
fingers with the palm)

 Defense against a straight knife attack to the stomach


— deflect to the outside and execute an elbow lock

 Defense against a roundhouse punch in the head —


deflect the opponent to the outside, execute a neck
lock and a throw by jerking the head downward
 Defense against a shoulder grab and a strike in the
head from above — a neck lock and a throw

 Defense against a roundhouse kick — inward


movement, passing below the leg and a throw, pin

 Defense against both hands grabbing both hands,


from behind — passing and a neck lock

 Defense against both hands grabbing both hands,


from behind — passing and pulling of the arm below
the armpit

 Defense against a straight fist punch in the stomach —


deflect it to the outside and throw by means of a slap
or a punch

 Defense against a roundhouse punch in the head —


blockage, interception by grabbing the elbow, pulling

above — interception, positioning of the shoulder
below the armpit and throwing of the opponent by
turning his/her head

outward turning movement and positioning under the
armpit, hand strike in the chin and an elbow lock
 Defense against a strike in the head from above —
direct inward movement and throwing of the
opponent by turning backwards

BROWN BELT

 Defense against a collar grab from behind — inward


movement, an upper arm grab and throwing by
means of a slap

 Defense against a neck grab from behind and a hand


grab — two versions: 1. by flipping over the
opponent’s arm which has grabbed the other arm 2.
by passing below the arm that holds the neck

 Defense against both hands grabbing both hands,


from behind — passing, crossing of hands, a lock

 Defense against a hand (fist) strike in the head —


deflect it to the outside, a neck lock

 Defense against a hand (fist) strike in the head —


deflect it to the outside, an arm lock by means of
twisting

 Defense against a grab from behind around the neck


and by the hand — passing, choking using the kimono
lapel and a pin

 Defense from a circular knife attack — direct blocking


with twisting of the arm
 Defense against a knife attack from above, executed
from the side — torque applied to the elbow and the
wrist

 Defense against a lapel grab and a knife pressed


against the neck — deflect it to the outside, execute a
hyperextending arm lock

 Defense against a direct stab in the stomach — deflect

twisting of the hand
