INTRODUCTION
This paper is a design of shallow foundation for 3B+G+ 13 Building. In
this paper 3types of shallow foundations are used which are
Isolated ,Combined & and MAT/RAFT . As shown in the picture we have
tried to lable the points where the columnS will exert load. And we have
tried to show the minimum AREA if an Isolated foundation were to be
used.
From the Labled Column load Application Points 8 of them are
designed with Isolated footing LABEL(1,2,3,4,14,15,16,17) due their
comparatively low load from superstructure and no possibilty for and
Stress overlap in an effective depth due to the lateral distance among
them.
We have merged 2 of them and made a combined footing with label
(5&6) and label (9&10) due to their proximity and possibility of stress
over lap. And the reamaining points due to their proximity if Isolated
foundation to be used and the wall foundation for the elevator shear
wall, and the huge amount of SUPERSTUCTURE LOAD on this narrow
area we decided to use MAT foundations for this 6 column load transfer
points these are laod from label (7,8,11,12,30,35)

B, punching shear
1. Punching is critical at 1.5d from the face of the column

K=min((1+√(200/d’),2)) =1+√ (200/682) =1.542 <2……….OK!
Since the critical section lies outside the footing dimension, no verification for punching shear is
required.
