Business Objectives

To minimize soil erosion and nutrient losses by reducing the amount and flow velocity of run-off, improving the soil, prevention of massive topsoil movement
and retention of soil moisture. Platform with retaining wall constructed using sand bags, tyre, etc., also facilitate easy field maintenance and harvesting
activities. Thus, promotes high economic Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) yield and efficient crop recovery.

3. Based on the census data findings palms which need mounding should be
identified.
4. The Monthly Plan should be updated incorporating the mounding palm activity.
5. Once the requirement is identified check whether the activity is scheduled for the
current period in the budget.
6. If the activity is not budgeted or the available budget is inadequate approval should
be obtained for additional budget from the General Manager (GM) Plantation as per
the company Authority Manual.
7. If it is required to advance the activity to the current month Estate Manager (EM)
approval should be obtained.
2 Morning Manual Field Assistant 8. The Field Assistant (FA) should identify the material, empty fertilizer bag or tyres
Briefing and worker requirement to complete the task.
9. Supervisor using a manual SIR approved by the FA should obtain empty fertilizer
bags from the stores.
10. Manual SIR is issued only as a form of recording and should not be entered to the
system. Based on the approved Manual SIR Stores and Central Workshop would
issue the material.
11. Workers should be allocated based on the scheduled work considering the worker
productivity as per budget and pre determined parameters.
12. Muster Chit should be updated incorporating the worker allocation and EM approval
should be obtained.
13. The EM and FA should carry out the morning briefing at 5.30 a.m. on the day the
activity is scheduled to their respective supervisors / workers discussing details of
activity schedule.
14. Any other issues pertaining to the scheduled activity should also be discussed.

15. Supervisor should ensure that the material and workers are transported to the
desired location.
16. Details relating to the transportation should be recorded in the Daily Log Sheet, FA
and EM should approve the DLS prior to entering to the system.
3 Mounding Manual Supervisor Mounding Using - Empty fertilizer bags

17. Empty fertilizer bags should be filled with suitable type of soil collected from the
surrounding areas.
18. Filled bags should be placed on 1.5m radius around the palm on a brick form to an
acceptable height in order to give stability to the palm.
19. The base of the palm should be filled with sand up to the height of the sand bags.
Mounding Using - Tyres
20. Cut the tyre in to suitable size (if required) and place in a brick form to an
acceptable height in order to give stability to the palm. Subsequently fill the base of
the palm with sand up to a desired height.
4 Recording Manual Supervisor / 21. Upon the completion of the activity the supervisor records the details of work
completed including workers / man days and number of palms mounded in the
Agronomy Clerk
Buku Mandor.
22. Subsequent to the approval of the Buku Mandor by the FA and the EM the payroll
should be updated.
