The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who

did regular physical activity in 2010

The bar chart gives information about the proportion of males and females regularly engaging in
exercises regularly in Australia in 2010.
Overall, in 2010, while the percentages of females aged 45-64 doing regular physical activity were
the greatest, it was the most common for males from 15-24, with it being the only group surpassing
women’s figure.
Regarding the groups displaying the most difference, the proportion of Australian female doing
exercises was 48%, slightly lower than that of their male peers’ 53%, making it the highest among
other age groups. In contrast, women of both 45-54 and 55-64 age group accounted for around 10%
more than men, with over a half of them participated in regular exercises.
Concerning the remaining ones, people taking part in physical exercises made up nearly 50% of
women aged 25-34, which was followed the other gender’s 42%. While the figure for women from
35-44 ranked the second, that for their male counterpart was the lowest, standing at 52% and 40%
respectively. In addition, both genders over 65 had the same number of people doing so.
