Escape the Room of Requirement Answers

Clue 1: Answers
Unseen Sequences
The wizard notices some markings on the wall but they disappear halfway through
each line.
They spot an open bottle of invisible ink on a table (which explains why some of the
markings are missing) so the wizard performs the Revealing Charm to make the invisible
ink on the wall reappear.
The markings seem to be a series of number sequences. Work out the rule for
each number sequence and then find the next five numbers for each one.

1. 2 2 5 0 2 1 5 0 2050 1950 1850 1750 1650

2. 1 6 9 0 1 7 0 0 1710 1720 1730 1740 1750

3. 7 7 5 0 6 7 5 0 5750 4750 3750 2750 1750

Which number is common to all of the

1750
number sequences?

Clue 3: Answers
Magical Measures
A magical tape measure lies abandoned on a table. As the wizard picks it up, it jumps
out of their hands and begins to take measurements of the room while the wizard
stands and watches in amazement. Perhaps this tape measure will help find a way out
of the room!

The dimensions of the room are in the table below but the tape measure has recorded
these using different units. Complete the table with the missing measurements.

Centimetres Metres and Centimetres

Height 214cm 2m 14cm

Length 845cm 8m 45cm

Width 548cm 5m 48cm

Order the three measurements in centimetres from smallest to largest.

214cm 548cm 845cm

The median of these measurements is the middle number when

they are in order from smallest to largest.

Add the three digits of the

median measurement together: 17

Clue 4: Answers
What’s My Mystical Number?
Noticing a broken Vanishing Cabinet in the corner of the Room of Requirement, the
wizard opens it and finds a slip of paper on which there is scribbled a riddle.

Read the riddle and select every number on the number square below that the riddle
eliminates to cross these numbers out.

At the end, you should be left with only one number: the mystical number.

Riddle
I have some magic digits: not one
or three but two.
I can’t be less than 51 or else this
wouldn’t do.
70 and all numbers greater are just
too large for me.
I’m even, so I don’t end in 9, 7,
5, 1 or 3.
66
In bingo games, my number has a
rather different name.
To help you solve this riddle, my
two digits are the same!

The mystical number is: 66

Divide this number by 6: 11

Clue 5: Answers
Time Turning and Totalling
The wizard notices how long they’ve been in the Room of Requirement and realises that,
if only they had a Time-Turner, they could go back to the past and stop themselves from
entering the room!

Instead, they think about all the times they’ve used a Time-Turner previously.

Complete the table below with times and time intervals.

Time Interval
Past Time Present Time (The number of hours and/or
minutes between times)

1:05 p.m. 5:00 p.m. 3 hours 55 minutes

11:00 15:45 4 hours 45 minutes

7:40 a.m. 1:50 p.m. 6 hours 10 minutes

17:55 19:25 1 hour 30 minutes

05:30 07:50 2 hours 20 minutes

Look at the Time Interval column in the table above.

First, calculate the total number of whole

hours from this column: 16

Now, calculate the total number of minutes

(not including the whole hours):
160

Finally, divide the total number of minutes

by the total number of hours:
10

This is your answer for clue 5. You should now have 5 numbers
that will help the wizard to escape the Room of Requirement.
