STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I have always considered knowledge to be my first priority. Having completed the Bachelor of
Computer Application program with a major interest in Java Programming, Embedded Software
Programming, Web and Data Science, and Website & Software Development. As I am a dynamic
person, I love to learn new technology to leverage real-world problems that help society.
Recently I have discovered that cyber threats are increasing at an alarming rate, and to tackle this
problem, there is a dire need for Cyber Security Analysts. As I already love technology and am
looking to learn new technologies, I believe that pursuing an M.S. in Cyber Security and
Privacy is the right course of action for me.

My love for technology developed during my Higher Secondary Certificate, and after completing
my schooling at the BAPS Swaminarayan Vidyamandir Raysan School with an aggregate of
50.53%, I enrolled in a Bachelor's of Computer Application degree. I completed my bachelor's
from the M. L. Parmar College of Computer Science & I.T., Surat, with an aggregate of 6.5
CGPA.

My undergraduate studies introduced me to different subjects, from very basic ones to more
advanced ones. I learned the basics of C, C++, Java, .Net, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, Computer
Designing, Relational Database Management Systems, Data Structures, Unix & Shell
Programming, etc. Among these, in the final year of my bachelor's, I chose the elective subjects
of Java, C++, and PHP as they completely captivated my interest. I developed an interest in
cybersecurity during my undergraduate course and completed various certifications in this
domain. I have completed Digital Forensics Essentials, Network Defense Essentials, and Ethical
Hacking courses from Code Red. I have also cleared a CSAI: Certified Security Awareness 1
course offered by Mile2 Cybersecurity Certifications.

Through my bachelor's degree and additional certifications, I gained a good understanding of

computers and various programming languages and software platforms. As I already have a
liking for cybersecurity, I wish to learn more about this field and gain a good knowledge of its
various aspects. For this, I believe that I must pursue an M.S. in Cyber Security and Privacy
program as this course includes different subjects that teach me in-depth about various concepts,
such as network security, Network penetration testing, etc. These subjects will further increase
my knowledge and skills in this domain and will help me reach my objective of becoming a
competent Cyber Security Analyst.

After going through your university website, perusing the information brochure, and thinking
deeply, I feel that a graduate program at the prestigious New Jersey Institute of Technology
is the right choice for me. It has been my first choice as it is one of the top universities in the
world and forges strong connections with companies and scientific institutions across the
world.
The state-of-the-art facilities at this highly recognized educational institution will surely help me
realize my aspiration of contributing to the Cyber Security sector of today's world. After going
through the New Jersey Institute of Technology website, perusing the information brochure,
and thinking deeply, I feel that a graduate program at the prestigious university is the right choice
for me.

Stating my academic interests, a desire to pursue further studies in an advanced nation like the
United States of America, which is rated topmost due to its advanced technology and modern
facilities, seems to be very natural. Studying here will give me the facilities, environment, and
opportunities to further expand my scope of gaining advanced knowledge in different computing
languages. I firmly believe that the USA, with its dynamic peer group and advanced facilities,
will certainly be a stepping stone and provide me with a competitive advantage in my pursuit of
a career in this field.

After completing my master's degree in the United States, I would like to work there for a short
period of time and gain some international experience. I plan on returning to India and working
as a Cyber Security Analyst in a top IT firm and helping in increasing the security level of the
firm. I wish to use my newly gained knowledge of cyber security to improve the technological
sector of my country. Hence, I see myself contributing to the academic world of my field of
study.
