Watch Nexus
Introduction
The watch industry in Nepal has seen a steady growth over the years with an increasing
demand for high-quality timepieces. However, there is a lack of reliable online platforms that
provide a wide range of watches, along with repair services.
Watch Nexus is online shop specialize in selling watches over the internet through both the
website and mobile app. The store will provide an attractive and user-friendly website that
showcases the products, features, and benefits of each watch.
The project aims to develop a watch e-commerce website that caters to the needs of customers
in the Nepal context. The website will provide an online platform for customers to buy watches,
compare watch models, and avail of watch repair services. The website will also include a
product suggestion algorithm using linear programming to suggest watches based on customer
preferences.

Problem Statement
In Nepal, customers often face difficulty in finding quality watches that are reasonably priced.
Additionally, there are limited options for comparing watches and accessing repair services.
This project aims to address these issues by providing an online platform that offers a wide
range of watches and repair services while also allowing customers to compare different watch
models.

Objectives
i. To include a product suggestion algorithm using linear programming that suggests
watches based on customer preferences.
ii. To offer a comparison feature for customers to compare different watch models.
iii. To ensure the website is secure and user data is protected.

Limitations
i. It may face higher return and refund rates due to wrist size, product quality, or customer
preference.
ii. The product suggestion algorithm may not always be accurate, as it is based on
customer preferences.

2
Scope
The scope of this project is to develop a comprehensive e-commerce website that offers a wide
range of watches and repair services. The website will also incorporate a comparison feature
that allows customers to make informed decisions while purchasing watches. The website will
be accessible from anywhere in Nepal and will cater to customers across the country.

Product Suggestion Algorithm

To suggest products to customers, a linear programming algorithm will be used. The algorithm
will take into consideration the customer's budget, preferred brand, and watch features to
suggest the best products that match their preferences.

Methodology
a) Requirement Gathering
i. Study of Existing System
Study of Existing System consists of a website that displays the products,
prices, features and reviews of each watch, as well as a payment gateway that
enables customers to pay securely using different methods.
Here are some advantages and disadvantages form reviewing the existing e commerce watch
systems in Nepal.

Advantages
• It provides convenience and accessibility to customers who can shop for
watches anytime and anywhere.
• It saves time and money for customers who do not have to travel to physical
stores and pay extra charges.
• It increases the market reach and sales potential for the watch sellers who can
access more customers online.

Disadvantages
• It faces competition from other e commerce platforms and websites that sell
watches online.
• It depends on the internet connectivity and speed, which may not be reliable
or consistent in some areas of Nepal.
• It lacks personal interaction and trust between the customers and the sellers,
which may affect customer satisfaction and loyalty.

➢ Server: Node JS Server

iii. Tools and Techniques

➢ Visual Studio Code, Figma

b) Feasibility Study
A feasibility study is an important process that assesses the potential success of a
business venture. In the context of an e commerce watch store in Nepal, a feasibility
study would evaluate the technical, economical, and operational feasibility of the
business.

i. Technical feasibility
It is technically feasible as we already have hardware and software required for
development of a software. Also, we have technical knowledge on how the project is
made through programming language like JavaScript, etc.
ii. Economical feasibility
The system does not require extra software and hardware i.e., it uses open-source
technologies. So, there is no recurring cost than just the internet connection.
iii. Operational feasibility
It is operationally feasible as we are making this system by removing the threats and
weakness of existing non manageable system which is reliable for the users.

c) High level design of a System

The Waterfall model is a software development approach that involves a linear, sequential
process with distinct stages, including Requirements, System Design, Implementation,
Testing, and Deployment. It's suitable for projects with fixed requirements, budget,
deadline, and resources.
During the Requirements phase, appropriate methods are used for requirement analysis,
and research on similar products is conducted to create a clear SOW and SRS document.
In the System Design phase, the hardware, programming languages, user interfaces, and
high-level and low-level designs are defined. The Implementation phase involves full

development based on the requirements and system design phases. The Testing phase
involves Whitebox and Blackbox testing, creating a test plan, test cases, and a test report.
Finally, the Deployment phase involves setting up the project in a production environment,
deploying the application to a server, and creating a deployment guide.

Expected Outcomes
i. A functional e-commerce website for the sale of watches in Nepal.
ii. Improved access to quality watches and repair services in Nepal.
iii. Increased customer satisfaction through the comparison feature and product suggestion
algorithm.
