On the 11th of September two thousand one, in New York City, the World Trade
Center, a complex of business buildings, was the target of a terrorist attack led by
the Al Qaeda organization. This attack was one of the most tragic and decisive
moments in contemporary history. These terrorists succeeded in hijacking two
airliners and crashing them into the North and South Towers, causing massive fires
and weakening the steel structures of both towers. Unfortunately, the Twin Towers
were once a symbol of American economic power, so this tragic event has prompted
major changes in international policy and national security.

The event at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, was a major terrorist
attack. Two hijacked airplanes, operated by Al-Qaeda terrorists, crashed into the Twin
Towers, causing their collapse.

The number of people who died in this tragedy is approximately 2,977, including the
passengers on the planes, occupants of the towers, as well as rescue workers and
firefighters who lost their lives while trying to save others.
This memorial site is very emblematic of terrorist attacks around the world. This is
why it attracts more than 1 million visitors per year. But we can ask why tourists want
to visit it?
People want to visit ground zero to pay tribute to the victims and reflect on the
impact of the tragic events. The site is historically significant and serves as a
memorial to honor those who lost their lives. On the other hand, some individuals
may visit to gain a deeper understanding of the collective resilience and strength
displayed in the face of adversity.
This site is a problem because some people think it shows a lack of respect for the
victims of this tragedy to visit this site. A memorial can now be found in place of the
towers. This is a question of remembrance and commemoration. Tourists just need
to be respectful of the place and pay tribute.

I think it's a good idea to visit places like this because they allow us to learn more
about the events that took place there. They are part of history, so it's important to
get to know them. It may seem disrespectful to the victims but I think it can be a
tribute.

Personally, I think that visiting this kind of site can be a very enriching experience
because it allows you to learn all the more while paying tribute to all the victims, but
not only that. It's also a way of realizing the scale of the disaster. However, I don't
think I'll be doing it one day because the Twin Towers have been replaced by the One
Trade Centre, a slightly more modest building, so, quite honestly, I can't think of much
more to visit.

Yes, I would like to visit the site because I find it interesting to explore places with
significant history. However, I'm a bit concerned that the violence of the events might
be distressing for me. Despite that, I believe understanding and remembering these
important moments is necessary.

Visiting this type of site allows me to educate myself, as my friend says. ALSO, dark
tourism fascinates me because I feel an oppressive and fascinating feeling. That's
interesting. I wouldn't know how to explain it but I would really like to visit this place.

As for me, ever since I’ve learnt about this event I’ve always wanted to take a closer
look at it. So I would be happy to visit this place. We weren’t born when this
happened so it makes the whole experience even more interesting.
