Introduction

Humility is an asset that is often neglected or misunderstood. It is not about thinking less of yourself,
but rather about having a realistic view of your strengths and weaknesses. It is about putting others
before yourself and serving them with a genuine heart.

The Bible teaches us that humility is essential for a Christian life. In fact, Jesus Himself was the
greatest example of humility. He came to earth as a human being, even though He was God. He
washed the feet of His disciples and served them, even though He was their Lord and Master. He
died on the cross to save us from our sins, even though He was innocent.

Bible Examples of Humility

Here are just a few examples of humility from the Bible:

 Moses: Moses was a great leader, but he was also humble. He knew that he was not
perfect, and he relied on God's help to lead the Israelites. (Numbers 12:3)
 David: David was a king, but he was also a humble shepherd. He knew that his greatness
came from God, not from himself. (Psalm 25:1-3)
 Daniel: Daniel was a wise and intelligent man, but he was also humble. He gave credit to God
for his wisdom and accomplishments. (Daniel 2:20-23)
 Jesus: Jesus was the Son of God, but He was also the most humble person who ever
lived. He washed the feet of His disciples, served them, and died on the cross to save them
from their sins. (Philippians 2:5-11)

Why is Humility Important?

Humility is important for a number of reasons. First, it allows us to see ourselves realistically. When
we are humble, we are not arrogant or boastful. We know that we are all sinners, and that we need
God's help in our lives.

Second, humility allows us to serve others more effectively. When we are humble, we are not focused
on ourselves or our own needs. Instead, we are focused on the needs of others and how we can
serve them.

Third, humility is essential for a close relationship with God. God resists the proud, but He gives grace
to the humble. (James 4:6) When we are humble, we are open to God's leading and guidance in our
lives.

How to Be More Humble

Here are a few tips on how to be more humble:

 Pray for humility. Ask God to help you see yourself realistically and to put others before
yourself.

Praying for humility means asking God to help you see yourself realistically and to put others before
yourself. It is acknowledging that you are not perfect and that you need God's help to be more humble.
It is also asking God to help you focus on the needs of others and to serve them with a genuine heart.

 Serve others. The best way to learn humility is to serve others. Look for opportunities to serve
your family, friends, church, and community.
 Be willing to admit when you're wrong. No one is perfect. When we make mistakes, we should
be willing to admit them and apologize.

To be willing to admit when you're wrong means to be honest and transparent about your
mistakes. It means being able to put your ego aside and acknowledge that you made a
mistake. It also means being willing to learn from your mistakes and to make amends if
necessary.
 There are many benefits to being willing to admit when you're wrong. First, it shows that you
are a mature and responsible person. Second, it builds trust with others. Third, it allows you to
learn from your mistakes and to grow as a person. Fourth, it can help to resolve conflicts and
to improve relationships.
 Admitting when you're wrong can be difficult, but it is important to remember that everyone
makes mistakes. No one is perfect. The important thing is to learn from your mistakes and to
try to do better next time.

 Listen to others. Listening to others is more than just hearing what they have to say. It is about paying
attention, understanding, and responding in a way that shows that you care about what they have to
say. It is about putting yourself in their shoes and trying to see things from their perspective.
 One of the best ways to learn and grow is to listen to others. Be open to hearing their
perspectives and ideas.

 Focus on God's greatness.

To focus on God's greatness means to keep our minds and hearts centered on His attributes and
accomplishments. It means to be constantly aware of His power, love, wisdom, and holiness. It means to see
the world through the lens of God's sovereignty and goodness.
As we focus on God's greatness, our own problems and struggles will begin to seem smaller in comparison.
We will develop a deeper trust in God and a greater confidence in His love and care. We will also be more
motivated to serve Him and to share His love with others.

This can help us to be more humble.

Humility is a journey, not a destination. It takes time and effort to learn to be humble. But it is a
journey that is worth taking because humility leads to a closer relationship with God and a more
fulfilling life.
