Variables

The variables are the factors that affect our experiment or manipulate
it. Our experiment consists of three variables: independent, dependent
and controlled.

Our project consists of two independent variables since it is a

comparative experiment. Our first independent variable is the force
that the machine applies to give speed to our experiment. The second
is the force applied by a person to generate speed to the machine.

Our dependent variable would be the speed of the influence machine

since this is the one affected by our two independent variables (the
strength of the machine and the person). The greater the force applied,
the greater the speed it will have.

The controlled variable is the one that ensures that all other factors
that could affect our project remain constant. In our experiment there
are different factors that could change our results, but the one that we
are most interested in keeping constant is the force exerted on the
machine, in order to compare our two results in a better way.
Experimentation

The purpose of this experiment is to demonstrate that

the Wimshurst machine generates electricity by friction.
Materials: Wimshurst machine, a drill
Procedure: Assemble the Wimshurst machine and
connect it to the drill. Rotate the disks and observe if
the machine makes more spark with the drill than with
human force.
Expected results: The spark will be bigger when we use
the drill.
Hypothesis
We believe that the machine will make more sparks
since they have better mobility, agility and strength than
a machine.
The proof of our hypothesis is right by experimenting
we show that the machine provides more sparks by
using the drill.

Conclusion
Our conclusion is that our hypothesis is right the drill
make more sparks because of the strength of the
machine and the speed of it.

Problem Statement
Will the spark produced by the machine be larger or
more intense when activated by the force of a machine
than by the force exerted by a human being?
Objective
Our objective with this project is to know if the energy
changes when we use human power to a machine, in
this case a drill, and if the spark that the machine
generates is greater or if it changes in some way.
Applicability
The Wimshurst machine helped a lot in history. One of the
great ways that the Wimshurst was used was with the x-ray
process, also used for some types of therapy due to the type of
energy the machine-generated. Currently, the Wimshurst
machine is used more in educational terms although it is also
used for Electrostatic painting, also known as powder coating,
and relies on the principles of electrostatics. Sometimes, a
Wimshurst machine can generate the necessary electrostatic
charge for the powder coating process. Keep in mind that the
use of a Wimshurst machine in modern applications is limited.
In many cases, more advanced and efficient technologies are
available for generating and controlling electrostatic charges.
However, for educational purposes, specialized experiments,
or specific artistic and niche industrial applications, a
Wimshurst machine can still find a place in the contemporary
world.

Philippians 2:13

you, God himself willing and working at what will give
him the most pleasure.
