Statement of Purpose

“The path of life is never a straight line. There are twists and turns along the way. But life always
gives us a chance to explore our passionate goals in one way or the other.” These lines which had
driven me towards the idea of doing Master’s in Computer Science in New England College. I am
certain that the Master’s in Computer Science at your University will allow me to hone my
technical and analytical abilities by providing an in-depth grasp of the various difficulties that
companies face.

I obtained my undergraduate degree in computer science and engineering.I got more interested in
programming and coding. My desire to excel brings me to the doors of this university to undergo
professional, advanced training in order to do better and attain higher levels of responsibilities.

What I wish to study and why this program

I did learn programming while in school and college and took it further through hands-on work
experience at Fujitsu and Avineon. However, I realized I need to upskill my skills for a better career
path. I seek to remedy this situation by learning more about software development, system
analytics, technologies currently in use and software integration. This program matches my
expectations in terms of course content, topics, duration and method of teaching. I will learn in a
systematic manner from professionals, and it will be of immense benefit to me to discharge my
responsibilities in a much better way. I strongly believe professional training makes a world of
difference.

Why this university and this country

It is never easy for an Indian student seeking admission in a foreign university. We have to consider
quite a few factors such as affordability, curriculum, and internships and other related value
additions for a real time experience. In these aspects, the university matches my needs as my
research shows. Students who have graduated from here have gone on to do quite well
professionally. I find this academy ranks among the best in United States, specifically in computer
science education.

As to my choice of USA as my destination for higher education, I consider it the cradle of

information technologies. I cannot imagine a world without PCs and basic platforms like Windows
and macOS. From another view, I like it that the USA is so progressive and that it encourages
individual growth and innovation. I will be sure to learn a lot besides computer science and return
to India enriched in every way by knowledge and personality development.

Experience

I graduated in 2020 and then went on to work as software consultant. I have worked
for Fujitsu and Avineon – two globally renowned IT Companies. I have learned much,
putting my knowledge to use and learning new technologies as the work demanded. I
interacted with people at different levels while working on projects. There is plenty of
scope for growth and advancement. My hard work and commitment earned me a pat
on the back, customer satisfaction, an extra mile award from my employers. They did
actively encourage me to undertake higher education as a way to climb up the ladder
to challenging positions as team leader or project leader.

Leadership/community experience

I believe in sharing and giving. I learnt a lot at school and college, thanks to my
parents. My way of giving something back to the community is to conduct workshops
for the less privileged. I do this on holidays and weekends. I also work as a volunteer in
an NGO. It brings balance into my life, shows me my place and fires me up to do more
for myself so that I can help others.
Values I bring to the institution
I am sincere, committed and a hard worker. I may not possess extraordinary skills, but I
make up for it with grittiness and dedication. I shall study hard since a lot of hinges on
my achieving success. I hope to bring credit to the university with my contribution and
performance.

Career goals and how this course will help

I have spent one year eight months as a software consultant. This gave me an
opportunity to rediscover myself both with my hard skills as well as soft skills. Once I
complete this course, I will certainly take on work as project or team leader. This
course will be my starting post to the future growth. Hence, please consider my profile
