MAPEH Grade - 8
Quarter 2

Module No. 1: Dating, Courtship, & Marriage; Mental Health Concerns;

Pre-Natal & Post-Natal Health Care; Responsible Parenthood

Introduction and Focus Questions

As young people grow and mature, they start thinking of having a happy family. Although many
people want to have partners in life, there are those who choose not to marry. Whatever people decide,
they realize first if they are responsible enough to start a family of their own, if they can support their
children and provide them with a comfortable life.

Couples should understand that the family is an institution where people first develop the true
sense of responsibility towards nation building. The module is designed for the learners to identify the
importance of planning marriage in order for them to have a successful family life in the future.
